  • Provide expert consultation for immunocompromised patients, critically ill patients, and cases requiring complex antimicrobial decision‑making.
  • Develop, implement, and support antimicrobial stewardship programs to improve antibiotic use, reduce resistance risk, and promote safe prescribing.

  • Collaborate with intensive care, internal medicine, microbiology, emergency medicine, public health, pharmacy, nursing, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Participate in outbreak investigation, containment planning, contact tracing support, infection surveillance, and reporting processes where required.
  • Oversee infection control compliance and support safe clinical practice across wards, ICU, procedure areas, and outpatient services.
  • Review culture results, antimicrobial sensitivity reports, laboratory findings, imaging results, and clinical progress to guide targeted therapy.
  • Educate and train medical staff on infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, isolation precautions, and emerging disease preparedness.
  • Stay updated with infectious disease trends, treatment guidelines, public health alerts, and current research.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity reviews, governance activities, and hospital policy development.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, consultation notes, antimicrobial recommendations, infection control records, and follow‑up plans.
  • Support MOHAP licensing and UAE regulatory expectations where applicable for Sharjah‑based clinical service.

Ideal Profile

  • Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Board certification in Infectious Diseases is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Infectious Disease specialist.

  • Strong clinical judgement with confident decision‑making in complex and time‑sensitive infection cases.
  • Experience working in a multicultural healthcare environment is highly valuable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, documentation, teaching, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
