Roles and responsibilities
  • Provide support in preparing Issue to inquiries suppliers/subcontractors and prepare bid summaries for review and pre-approval, optimizing procurement processes and securing competitive bids. Provide procurement and contractual advice and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify, address, and minimize contract-related issues, safeguarding the company's interests.
  • Review and finalize advisory recommendations on Contractor claims, ensuring fair and equitable resolution of claims, maintaining financial transparency, and upholding the company's reputation for integrity, minimizing supplier/contract disputes.
  • Settlement of all pending/legacy variation orders, claims, and disputes in a timely manner.

Job Accountabilities

  • Negotiate, draft, review and advise upon, all required legal documentation in relation to the company matters, including corporate matters, leases (commercial, residential, and retail), facilities management agreements, property management agreements, development agreements, assignment agreements, settlement agreements, confidentiality agreements, MOUs, LOIs, and all other related and ancillary documents.
  • Provide legal consultation, advice, and support to companies across the Group in respect of both existing and prospective matters, and to identify, contain and manage exposure and contingent risk.
  • Ensure proper compliance by Group companies with all property laws and regulations including, but not limited to, Dubai Landlord and Tenant Law, and the Strata Law.
  • Manage litigation and liaise with external lawyers. Familiarity with applicable laws in respect of Group property related businesses operating in the region and beyond is required.
  • Provide advice in respect of more general commercial matters (including intellectual property, agency, distributorship, franchising, and finance issues) as well as advising on the management and conduct of various contentious matters. Provide advice, as and when required, on construction related matters.
  • Ensure the correct submission of legal requirements as required by Corporate Governance and any other statutory requirements regarding the formation and operation of the company.

Qualifications, Experiences, Skills:

Min. 4-6 years of experience with at least 3 years negotiating, drafting, and executing complex contracts in the real estate industry.

Desired candidate profile
  • Contract drafting: Draft, review, and revise a wide variety of legal contracts, including service agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
  • Legal research: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents to ensure that contracts are compliant with applicable laws.
  • Contract negotiation: Negotiate the terms and conditions of contracts with external parties while ensuring the organization's best interests are maintained.
  • Risk assessment: Analyze contracts to identify potential risks and liabilities, ensuring that terms are favorable and legally sound.
  • Compliance management: Ensure contracts adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

  • Contract accuracy: Review contracts thoroughly to ensure that all terms, clauses, and stipulations are clear, precise, and accurate.
  • Legal terminology: Understand and use appropriate legal terminology to ensure that contracts are legally enforceable and unambiguous.
  • Error identification: Identify and correct any errors, omissions, or ambiguities in contract drafts or revisions before execution.

Negotiation Skills

  • Effective negotiation: Lead or participate in contract negotiations, balancing the organization's interests with external stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Conflict resolution: Resolve conflicts or disagreements in contract terms or conditions through negotiation, ensuring a fair resolution for all parties involved.
  • Compromise and flexibility: Ability to find mutually acceptable solutions while ensuring that the organization's legal and business objectives are met.

Communication Skills

  • Clear communication: Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders, clients, or vendors who may not have a legal background.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., procurement, finance, sales, etc.) to understand business needs and ensure contracts support organizational goals.
  • Internal advice: Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders, such as senior management, on the implications of contract terms and obligations.

Project Management and Organizational Skills

  • Contract lifecycle management: Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initial draft through negotiation to final execution, ensuring timely completion.
  • Prioritization: Prioritize and manage multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and processes run smoothly.
  • Document management: Maintain organized records of all contracts, amendments, and related documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Process improvement: Continuously assess and improve internal processes for contract management, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
