Whiteshield Data Scientist - AI Economics Unit

We are seeking a data scientist to leverage AI and Machine Learning to deliver actionable insights for government agencies and private sector clients. The role involves a strong emphasis on AI-driven methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI Analysis & Modelling: Apply machine learning, econometrics, and statistical techniques to extract insights from large datasets
  • Data Engineering & Processing: Clean, structure, and transform large-scale datasets from various sources for analysis
  • Automation & Optimization: Develop scripts, pipelines, and dashboards to automate data workflows and improve efficiency in policy analysis
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Present complex data findings to senior government officials, policymakers, and executives in a clear and actionable manner
  • Geospatial & AI-Driven Insights: Use satellite imagery, geospatial AI, and predictive analytics to assess infrastructure development and urban expansion

Requirements
  • Expertise in Python
  • Strong experience with AI and machine learning
  • Experience in working with large datasets
  • Strong capability to articulate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders through reports, visualisations, and presentations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to tackling technical and analytical challenges
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable policy recommendations

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning
