Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for Mechanical QC Engineer to join a top qualified and knowledgeable quality controls team in one of our projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

What you will need to do:

  1. Assists in the preparation of quality documentation, including the Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and in the review of construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to Mechanical works.
  2. Monitors all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all related Mechanical works and in particular issues of design, procurement, construction and final handover of the related Mechanical works.
  3. Monitors the implementation of Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans related to Mechanical works, and ensures all necessary records are generated in a timely manner in their area of assigned responsibility.
  4. Manages the inspection and testing of Mechanical works in their area of assigned responsibilities, including monitoring the work of QC Inspectors under their authority.
  5. Monitors the close out of punch lists established for incomplete related to Mechanical works.
  6. Monitors all measurement & testing instruments employed for Mechanical works, ensuring they are functional and calibrated.
  7. Witnesses, reviews and approves welder qualifications and WPS, PQR qualifications.
  8. Liaises and coordinates with 3rd Party Testing/Inspection Company as required related to Mechanical works.
  9. Conducts statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to Mechanical works.
  10. Prepares, files, maintains test/inspection records and any other quality records generated related to Mechanical works.
  11. Assists construction personnel to identify and resolve problems and potential or actual non-conformances related to Mechanical works.
  12. Advises the QC Manager of non-conformance occurrences and where necessary, raises a Non-conformance Report for non-compliant work, and monitors the closeout and effectiveness of the correction and corrective action undertaken.
  13. Where required, assists the QC Manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of sub-contractors and suppliers, in particular technical compliance audits in their field of specialization.
  14. Witnesses all NDT and Mechanical testing (including hydro testing, pneumatic testing etc.) specified.
  15. Attends and witnesses all Client verification of work (inspection, test and the like) on site, and coordinates close out of any and all outstanding issues related to Civil works.
  16. Where required, assists in the preparation of final documents for certification.
  17. Assists in the systems commissioning as required.
  18. Hands on in managing site interface with implementation contractor QC personnel, client QC personnel, management of QC inspectors. Knowledgeable in codes and standards, ADNOC specifications, SHELL DEP. Familiar with site fabrication, construction and erection activities.

What you will need to have:

  1. Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering
  2. Strong experience in Engineering & Procurement (EP Phase) projects is a must.
  3. Min. 15 years of experience (ADNOC experience will be an advantage)
  4. Full EPC experience in O&G project
  5. Very Good Command of English Language
  6. Well versed in the inspection and certification of Pipeline, Piping, Structures, Process equipment, packaged units, NDT methods, Welding activities, Test Package Management, Mechanical Completion – oil and gas EPCM projects.

  2. Has excellent organizational skills
