As a Business Analyst within the Oil and Gas industry, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. Your role involves gathering and analysing business requirements, translating them into actionable data and analytics initiatives, and driving insights to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and objectives across various domains.
    • Elicit, document, and prioritise data science and analytics project requirements.
    • Translate complex business needs into technical specifications for data engineers and scientists.
  2. Data-Driven Decision Support:
    • Analyse data from various sources to provide actionable insights.
    • Develop predictive and prescriptive models in collaboration with technical teams to support business strategies.
    • Identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  3. Visualization and Reporting:
    • Create interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
    • Present insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner, tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Automate reporting workflows for recurring business needs.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring project goals and deliverables are aligned.
    • Facilitate communication between data engineers, scientists, and end-users to ensure project success.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on project progress.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Analyse current workflows and identify opportunities for automation and optimisation.
    • Recommend process changes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
    • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support investment decisions in data technologies.
  6. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all data usage aligns with industry regulations and internal policies.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for business processes, data workflows, and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst, focusing on data analytics preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualisation and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.

Key Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to query and analyse data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with industry workflows and terminology.

Mandatory requirement: Knowledge and experience of the Oil and Gas industry is a requirement.

Candidates based in the UAE or looking to relocate to the UAE will be considered.
