  • Troubleshoot andrepair physical model testing equipment
  • Workwith electrical components of the physical model testing equipment,including wiring and control systems
  • Understandthe possible hazards of the laboratory, safety regulations andprocedures, and experience working with safety equipment such asprotective clothing, goggles, and gloves. General knowledge ofhazardous material handling, storage, and disposal would be good tohave
  • Manage the inventory and keep accuraterecords of equipment, supplies, and experimentaldata

CommunicationSkills : Strong written and verbal communicationskills are needed to document results, present findings, andcollaborate effectively withcolleagues.

Knowledgeof Lab Equipment : Familiarity with variouslaboratory instruments such as microscopes, spectrometers,centrifuges, and other specializedequipment.

ComputerSkills : Proficiency with laboratory informationmanagement systems (LIMS), spreadsheets, data analysis software,and potentially even specific scientific applications related tothe field.

Qualifications :

  • Three-Year Technical Diploma inMechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or Bachelor's Degreein Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering),or equivalent
  • Minimum 05 years'experience in a similar role and environment for diplomaholder
  • or Minimum 03 years'experience in a similar role and environment for degreeholder

Desired candidate profile

TechnicalKnowledge : Understanding of laboratory techniquesand equipment. This includes knowledge of chemicals, biologicalmaterials, and various scientific methods used inexperiments.

Attentionto Detail : Accuracy is crucial in a laboratorysetting. A small mistake in measurements or processes can lead toincorrect results, so precision iskey.

Problem-SolvingSkills : The ability to troubleshoot issues withequipment, experiments, or processes. Lab techs often have toidentify problems and find solutionsindependently.

DataCollection and Analysis : The ability to collect dataaccurately and analyze it using various tools and techniques (e.g.,statistical software, spreadsheets, etc.). Reporting resultsclearly is alsoessential.

SafetyProtocols and Procedures : Knowledge of laboratorysafety procedures, including the handling of hazardous materials,biological samples, and the use of personal protective equipment(PPE).

TimeManagement : Many lab tasks are time-sensitive, soeffective time management is crucial to meet deadlines and maintainworkflow.

QualityControl : Ensuring that all work meets the requiredstandards, whether it's in clinical testing, productmanufacturing, or research. This could involve calibration ofequipment, maintaining lab conditions, and following standardoperating procedures(SOPs).

Teamworkand Collaboration : While some tasks may beindependent, laboratory technicians often work with otherprofessionals like scientists, researchers, or medicalprofessionals to achieve sharedgoals.
