Roles and responsibilities
  • Be at the forefront of major Design initiatives, partnering with your Product colleagues on visions and roadmaps
  • Stakeholder management and ability to communicate with Design & Product colleagues for buy-in
  • You can balance multiple priorities assessing cost vs benefits and market opportunities
  • Understand the Online Travel market
    • Products
    • Payment methods
    • Pricing (strategy, coupons)
    • Marketing partnerships (messaging of marketing)
    • Support channels (email, phone, chat, applications)
  • Set and refine the design quality bar, in partnership with design leadership, through our principles and design system
  • Design with Accessibility in mind
  • Build key partnerships with Product, Research, Engineering and Design Leadership
  • Experience working with distributed teams in multiple time zones and an affinity for designing and facilitating asynchronous collaborative work
  • A believer in our mission of bringing everyone the inspiration to create a life they love

Design & Customer centricity attributes :

  • Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback
  • Present your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person
  • Strong user interface and visual design skills
  • Proficiency with relevant tools, standards and frameworks (Figma, Design Tokens, WCAG etc.)
  • Past work experience showcasing the ability to define major workstreams, communicate a plan and success measurement framework, and then execute
  • A Research focus within the market with an understanding of the cultural nuances, enabling the ability to dig deeper into user insights to collate themes that lead to product decisions.

    • Deep understanding of UCD principles, ensuring that all design decisions prioritize the needs and behaviors of the users.
    • Expertise in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.

  • Design Thinking:

    • Strong proficiency in applying design thinking methodologies to solve complex problems, empathizing with users, ideating solutions, prototyping, and testing.
    • A creative and iterative approach to problem-solving that allows for continuous improvement based on user feedback.

  • UI/UX Design Expertise:

    • UI (User Interface) Design: Expertise in creating visually appealing and functional user interfaces that align with branding guidelines.
    • UX (User Experience) Design: Designing seamless, intuitive experiences, ensuring the product is easy to navigate and use.
    • Experience with interaction design and information architecture to structure content and ensure smooth workflows.

  • Prototyping and Wireframing:

    • Proficiency in creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts.
    • Experience with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or Axure for designing and prototyping.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, marketing) to ensure design consistency and functionality.
    • Ability to present and articulate design concepts and decisions to non-design stakeholders, including senior management.
    • Providing design feedback and conducting design reviews for team members.

  • Design Leadership:

    • Leading design projects and overseeing the design process from ideation to final implementation.
    • Mentoring and guiding junior designers, fostering an environment of creativity, learning, and improvement.
    • Setting design standards and guidelines to maintain consistency across the product portfolio.

  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking:

    • Ability to tackle complex problems and come up with creative design solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
    • A solution-oriented mindset, comfortable working in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Using analytics and user feedback to iterate and improve designs continuously.
    • Familiarity with user testing, A/B testing, and analyzing behavioral data to inform design iterations.

  • Branding and Visual Design:

    • Experience in establishing or maintaining design systems and ensuring visual consistency across platforms and devices.
    • A strong understanding of visual design principles such as typography, color theory, spacing, and iconography.
