  • Design,develop, and simulate engineering solutions for complex materialhandling challenges considering human/equipment interactions forthe Last Mile network
  • Lead and coordinatesimulation efforts for optimal solutions through equipmentspecification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associateexperience, operational considerations and sitelayout
  • The candidate must have the ability towork with diverse customer groups to solve business problems andprovide data solutions that are organized and simple tounderstand.
  • Working with technical andnon-technical customers to design experiments, simulations, andcommunicate results
  • Develop, document andupdate simulation standards, including standard resultsreports
  • Create basic to highly advanced modelsand run "what-if" scenarios to help drive tooptimal solutions
  • Work closely with internalteams to ensure that every detail is thought through and documentedusing Standard Operating Procedures and/or structured changecontrol
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliersand other cross functional teams to come up with innovativesolutions
  • Simultaneously manage multipleprojects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, andcommunicating with internal and external businesspartners
  • Conduct post-mortem on simulations,after implementation of new designs, in partnering with Safety andOperations

BasicQualifications

  • 2+ years of data scientistexperience
  • 3+ years of data querying languages(e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) orstatistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)experience
  • 3+ years of machinelearning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques,and parameters that affect their performanceexperience
  • Experience applying theoreticalmodels in an applied environment

PreferredQualifications

  • Experience in Python, Perl, oranother scripting language
  • Experience in a MLor data scientist role with a large technology company
