Roles and responsibilities

As a data architect you are expectedto have solid data management experience (Data modelling, DataQuality, ETL and Reporting) and use your experience to supportday-to-day data science activities as well as coming up withinitiatives that can enhance the work experience in data domain byleveraging data quality and standardizing modelling and ETLdesigns.

The role requires strong partnershipwith data scientists, data engineers, data analysts and reportingteams, by demonstrating strong interpersonal and communicationskills as well as project and stakeholdermanagement.

As aData Architect, you will be responsible for two scopes ofwork:

  • DataUnits Support
    • Act as a data managementconsultant for our data science teams:
      • Guidethem to create data models and ETL pipelines that best serves theiruse case following best practices in terms of performance, qualityand cost.
      • Review production deployment requestsand advice changes to follow the setstandards.
      • Support the team in tuning theirdata solutions.
      • Align priorities and planweekly/monthlyactivities.
  • HorizontalInitiatives
    • Identify gaps and shortfalls andbuild end-to-end data solutions that fills the gaps in termsof:
      • Reducing data platform activitiescost.
      • Enhancing data pipelinesperformance.
    • Build/Maintaindata products that supports data quality and governanceprogram
      • Build/Enhance data quality gatessolutions.
      • Identify data quality and governanceshortfalls, perform root cause analysis and advice a solution andmonitoring mechanisms.
      • On a team rotationalbasis, act as a production support guardian for the entire dataplatform ETL pipelines on yourturn.
    • Partner with ourdata engineering and data reporting teams and work together tobetter support the data units and align on horizontal initiativesacross the dataplatform.

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge andexperience working with relational databases, as well as workingfamiliarity with a variety of databases.
  • Soliddata modelling experience with 5-8 years ofexperience.
  • Experience building and optimizingdata pipelines, data warehouse architectures, and datasets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysison internal and external data and processes to answer specificbusiness questions and identify opportunities forimprovement.
  • Strong analytic skills related toworking with unstructured datasets.
  • Buildprocesses supporting data transformation, data structures,metadata, dependency and workloadmanagement.
  • Strong project management andorganizational skills.
  • Experience supportingand working with cross-functional teams in a dynamicenvironment.

  • Bachelor's degree inengineering, computer science, technology, or similarfields.
Desired candidate profile

1.Data Architecture andDesign

  • Expertise indesigning and structuring complex data systems that supportbusiness needs, ensuring they are scalable, flexible, andefficient.
  • Understanding of data models,schemas, and data structures like relational, NoSQL, andcloud-based systems.
  • Experience with designingdatabases (OLTP, OLAP), data lakes, and data warehouses to handlestructured and unstructured data.

2.DatabaseTechnologies

  • Strongknowledge of relational databases (e.g.,MySQL,PostgreSQL,Oracle), NoSQL databases (e.g.,MongoDB,Cassandra), and graphdatabases.
  • Experience with cloud-based databasetechnologies like Amazon RDS,Google BigQuery, AzureSQL Database, andSnowflake.
  • Proficiencyin database management, including performance tuning, indexing,backup, and disaster recoveryplanning.

3. DataModeling and ETLProcesses

  • Expertise indesigning logical and physical data models that are optimized forquerying and reporting.
  • Experience in buildingand managing ETL (Extract, Transform,Load) pipelines to move data betweensystems.
  • Familiarity with dataintegration tools like ApacheNifi, Talend, andInformatica.

4.Cloud Computing and DistributedSystems

  • Proficiency incloud platforms (e.g., AWS,Google Cloud Platform,Microsoft Azure) for deploying andmanaging data infrastructure.
  • Knowledge ofdistributed computing frameworks like ApacheHadoop, Spark, andFlink for processing large volumes ofdata.
  • Experience designing cloud-based datastorage systems that allow for scalability, cost-effectiveness, andhigh availability.

5.Big DataTechnologies

  • Familiaritywith big data tools like Apache Kafka,Hadoop, andSpark for managing and processinglarge datasets in real-time.
  • Understanding ofbatch processing and stream processing architectures to ensure datais processed and analyzed in a timelymanner.

6. DataGovernance andSecurity

  • Knowledge ofdata governance best practices, ensuring data quality, integrity,and compliance with legal regulations (e.g., GDPR,HIPAA).
  • Expertise in implementing data securitymeasures, including encryption, access controls, and audit logs, toprotect sensitive data.
