For our own projects, we are looking for: Lead Material Engineer.

MISSION:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the procurement of line pipes, bends, and other pipeline fittings, with expertise in preparing materials specifications, data sheets, and requisitions.

TASKS:

  • Develop and review material specifications, data sheets, materials requisitions, and purchase requisitions for line pipes, bends, forgings, bolts & nuts, flanges, and other related components.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, and ADNOC specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise in welding engineering to assess and define key material requirements affecting the welding process during procurement.
  • Handle procurement packages for Corrosion-Resistant Alloy (CRA) materials, including Hot Rolled Bonded (HRB), Weld Overlay (WOL), and Mechanically Lined Pipes (MLP).
  • Prepare and manage technical clarifications and bid evaluations for CS pipes, CRA pipes (HRB/MLP/WOL), CS bends and WOL, flanges, gaskets, and fasteners.
  • Support the procurement process by evaluating suppliers, reviewing manufacturing procedures, and ensuring material quality compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure material selection aligns with project requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for offshore pipeline projects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in materials engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven expertise in the procurement and specification of line pipes, bends, and pipeline fittings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding engineering principles related to pipe procurement and fabrication.
  • Experience working with Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, and ADNOC standards.
  • Hands-on experience with CRA materials (HRB, WOL, MLP) and their applications.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical clarifications, bid evaluations, and vendor assessments.
  • Experience in offshore pipeline projects is highly preferred.
  • Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
