Roles and responsibilities

The Senior Principal CommissioningEngineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems thatbroadly impact the business. They must proactively identify andsolve the most complex problems that impact the Management anddirection of the business. The Senior Principal CommissioningEngineer is considered a specialist in the field of Commissioning,and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the EngineeringFunction. The Senior Principal Commissioning Engineer impacts thedirection and resource allocation of programs and projects in theirdiscipline and works within general functional policies andindustry guidelines. The Senior Principal Commissioning Engineerrole requires conceptual and innovative thinking to developcreative solutions to Commissioningchallenges.

Role will be responsible inmanaging Commissioning on ADNOC project. Role requires extensivecommissioning experience in Oil & Gas industry, OPERCOMmethodology, previous expereince in ADNOC shall be preferred andwill be responsible in managing overall commissioning aspects ofthe project. This role requires ADNOC approval and is requiredimmediately after CONTRACTaward.

Responsibilities

KeyTasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting theCommissioning Manager in the planning and execution of a safe andefficient Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up, andPerformance Testing of the facility to achieve theplant's production and performance objectives and Company(MDR) contractual objectives
  • Work collaborationwithin the Project team and with the Client to maintain positiverelationships
  • Provide a back-up role to theCommissioning Manager and theirabsence
  • Supervise the implementation of theapproved management and operational plan for the pre-commissioning,commissioning, and start-up of the plant through performancetesting and plant acceptance
  • Define thecommissioning team activities based on the agreed project scope ofwork
  • Assist in defining the manpowerrequirements of the home office and Site Commissioningactivities
  • Develop pre-commissioning,commissioning, start-up, and project completion schedules andsupervise its implementation
  • Supervise theimplementation of activities related to the pre-commissioning,commissioning, start-up, operation, and maintenance during theproject
  • Supervise the development ofpre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-upprocedures
  • Participate in the review ofengineering documentation during home officeactivities
  • Interface with Construction and theClient, as required
  • Supervise the activities ofSub-Contract, Supplier Servicemen, and Client personnel assigned towork under their supervision until plantacceptance
  • Participate in the development ofthe training program for all employees under their supervision andfor Client personnel
  • Interface with all localagencies, as needed, to facilitate all required approvals andensure the smooth and successful commissioning, start-up, andoperation of the facility
  • Implement proceduresto deliver the overall safety of the facility and itspersonnel
  • Provide input to the"lesson learned" database
Desired candidate profile

Managers, Project Controls,Construction/Fabrication team, Quality, HSSE and Client designatedrepresentatives as required

Supervises:Commissioning Engineers, Completions Specialists, Operation& Maintenance specialists, Designers, andsupport

personnel within the functiongroup

Qualifications

EssentialQualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree orequivalent in Engineering
  • 20+ years ofexperience in oil and gas with major contractors orconsultant
  • Requires in-depth understanding ofconcepts, principles, and practices in commissioning, completions,and training as well as basic knowledge of other functions, such asconstruction and operations &maintenance
  • Applies understanding of theindustry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influenceprocesses and policies
  • Preferably possess aB.S. or M.S. degree in either chemical or mechanicalengineering
  • Significant role in at least three(3) major projects in the oil and gas or chemical process industrydemonstrating technical broad knowledge of commissioning andstart-up
  • Must have effective communicationskills, and be able to establish confident relationships withdiscipline managers, technical engineers, and non-engineers.Presentation skills are required
  • Must haveexcellent computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Visio, and other engineering softwareprograms
  • Must have excellent organizationalskills and be adaptable to the needs of various disciplinegroups
  • Must have the ability to assess andcommunicate project requirements and expectations in a clearlydefined, positive, and productivemanner
  • Capable of leading a commissioningproject team
  • Willing and able to travel toconstruction sites on assignments to internationalsites
  • Proficiency in English, Multi-Languageskills a plus
