  • Assist the Resident Engineer orMEP Lead in performing the contractual duties onsite.
  • Provides resolution for technicalengineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinatesapplication of solutions to ensure progress onsite.
  • Advise the project manager of anytechnical aspects of the electrical services that may affectconstruction progress, quality and thelike.
  • Continually review thecontractor's construction schedule during the progress ofsite works.
  • Review construction submittals fromproject inception toclose-out.
    • ReviewContractor's installation methodstatements.
    • Review Contractor's shopdrawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance withthe design intent and return to project manager with appropriatecomments / approval.
    • Reviewcontractor's electrical shop drawing in conjunction withthe structural and mechanical engineers to ensure engineeringco-ordination and advise project manageraccordingly.
    • Review Contractor'selectrical services material proposals against specified technicalperformance requirements and advise the Project Manager on theappropriateness of the proposals.
    • ReviewContractor's proposed sub contractor(s) associated with theelectrical engineering works from a technicalstandpoint.
      • Monitorsmaterial procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in supportof construction activities and schedule within the assigneddiscipline.
      • Undertake general project siteobservation / inspection of the electrical services works forContractor's adherence to the approved shop drawings andConsultant's specification, good working practices, theconstruction schedule and health &safety.
      • Be available to undertake off-siteinspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemednecessary by the Project Manager.
      • Undertakeprior review of Contractor's proposed electrical systemtesting & commissioning methods andschedule
      • Witness on-site piped system pressuretest, air conditioning duct leakage testing and other testing thatmay be required during the first fix works and advise the ProjectManager accordingly.
      • On a spot basis witnesselectrical system final testing andcommissioning.
      • Review and comment onContractor's testing and commissioning results and adviseProject Manager accordingly.
      • Prepare on-goinglist of electrical services defects for contractor'sremedial action.
      • Undertake final projectsnagging and prepare list of defects for Contractor'saction.
      • Attend project, site progress and anyelectrical services related technical meetings as directed by theproject manager.
      • Prepare draft site /engineer's instructions, relating to the buildingelectrical services, as required and issue to the ProjectManager.
      • Provide advice to the Project Managerin regard to any electrical services related variation costs thatmay be claimed by the Contractor during the course of theworks.
      • Review and comment upon ContractorsOperation and Maintenance manuals.
      • Overseejunior engineers and inspectors for all electrical work and ensurethat installation activities comply with contractual obligationsand quality control standards.
      • Follow-up withthe contractor and support in coordinating with the utilityauthority regarding connections wheneverrequired.
