What youll bedoing

The Procurement Director willoversee and lead the strategic sourcing process for nonmerchandisegoods and services managing the annual spend for the Group alongwith supplier management. This leader will align procurementstrategies with the objectives of Chalhoub Group emphasizing costsavings efficiency quality and strong supplier relationships. Therole involves establishing a category management approach acrossvarious categories including logistics facilities management ITservices marketing and indirect spend to optimize procurementprocesses and enhance supplier performance. The Director to promotebest practices and drive innovation within the procurement functionto maximize value for both the Group and its partners. Additionallythey will analyse market trends and supplier capabilities toidentify opportunities for value creation and risk mitigationwithin each category. This leader will manage the ProcurementDepartment and report to the Group Chief FinancialOfficer.

  • StrategicProcurementLeadership
    • Developand implement the procurement strategy aligned with the companyslongterm objectives.
    • Establish and managecategory strategies across various spend areas including directindirect and services procurement.
    • Drivecontinuous improvement in sourcing contract management supplierrelationships and risk management.
    • Act as abusiness partner to other functions to ensure alignment ofprocurement with corporate priorities andobjectives.

2. Supplier andStakeholder Management

  • Build andmaintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the bestquality service and terms.
  • Develop a supplierevaluation framework to monitor assess and enhance supplierperformance.
  • Collaborate with internalstakeholders to understand and anticipate needs promotingprocurement as a key contributor to the organizationssuccess.

3. Financial and OperationalExcellence

  • Cost Reduction: Leadinitiatives to reduce costs while ensuring high quality and SLAdelivery.
  • KPI Development: Establish and trackkey performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement to drive andmonitor performance improvements.
  • BudgetManagement: Own budget preparation forecasting and spend analysisto align with financial goals.
  • Compliance andEthics: Ensure the procurement team adheres to ethical standardsand sustainability practices.

4. TeamLeadership and Development

  • Lead mentorand develop the procurement team to build a highperformanceculture.
  • Foster a collaborative environmentthat promotes learning and growth within theteam.
  • Identify training and developmentopportunities to enhance team capabilities and drive operationalexcellence.

5. Compliance and RiskManagement

  • Ensureprocurement activities are conducted in full compliance with legaland regulatory requirements.
  • Develop riskmanagement strategies to address potential disruptions in thesupply chain.
  • Drive sustainability initiativesin procurement promoting responsible sourcing and environmentalimpact reduction.

Whatyoull need to succeed

  • Educational Background:Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Managementor a related field. (CIPS/MCIPS) and/or a Masters Degree ispreferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 yearsexperience in indirect procurement with at least 5 years in aleadership role ideally within the retail or FMCG sector. Directprocurement experience is a plus.
  • TechnicalSkills: SAP Ariba experience is a requirement. Strong knowledge ofprocurement systems ERP systems and data analyticstools.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven track recordof developing and executing procurement strategies that drivevalue.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:Excellent communication and leadership abilities to influencecrossfunctional teams and foster strong supplierrelationships.
  • ProblemSolving Ability: Stronganalytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to workeffectively in a dynamicenvironment.
