Position Overview

Majid Al Futtaim Retail is seeking an experienced Vice President - Finance to lead its finance function at the UAE Head Office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This senior leadership position is responsible for establishing financial strategy, directing business planning and budgeting activities, and ensuring that financial operations support the company 's strategic priorities and long-term business objectives. The Vice President - Finance will work closely with MAF Retail management and departmental leaders to develop financial plans, evaluate organizational resources, oversee financial reporting, and maintain compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role requires extensive financial management experience, strong business planning capabilities, and a solid understanding of the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Strategy and Business Leadership
  • Participate in developing and reviewing MAF Retail 's overall business strategy in collaboration with the company 's management team.
  • Establish strategic priorities and annual objectives for the finance function in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that support business plans and operational objectives.
  • Provide financial direction to support management decisions and the achievement of MAF Retail 's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the finance function 's contribution to annual business planning and the execution of approved financial objectives.
• Financial Planning and Budget Management
  • Lead financial planning and budgeting activities across MAF Retail, ensuring that financial plans align with corporate strategy and business priorities.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual financial plans and budgets based on the company 's strategic objectives and planned activities.
  • Collaborate with department heads to establish annual objectives, business plans, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure departmental financial plans are aligned with broader organizational objectives and available financial resources.
  • Review and discuss proposed departmental budgets with relevant business leaders to achieve agreement on financial allocations.
  • Balance departmental operational requirements and action plans against MAF Retail 's overall financial position.
  • Guide the consolidation of departmental budgets into the company 's financial planning process.
• Financial Reporting and Accounting Compliance
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for consolidated operations and individual entities.
  • Oversee financial reporting activities covering income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and statements of changes in owners ' equity.
  • Ensure financial accounting and reporting practices comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Maintain oversight of financial reporting processes to support accurate and consistent financial information.
  • Review financial statements and reporting outputs to support management 's understanding of business performance and financial position.
• Finance Function Development
  • Assess the finance function 's capabilities, including available technology, operational processes, and personnel resources.
  • Identify resource requirements necessary to support the implementation of MAF Retail 's business and financial strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing financial processes and systems in meeting organizational requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction for the finance function to ensure its resources and capabilities remain aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the finance function in delivering its annual objectives and supporting company-wide financial priorities.
• Corporate Policies and Financial Governance
  • Contribute financial expertise to the development of MAF Retail 's corporate policies and relevant operational procedures.
  • Monitor the implementation of approved corporate policies and procedures within the finance function.
