Legal Counsel (French Speaking)

Our client is a leading multinational technology company. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team and ensure contractual, compliance, and data privacy obligations are effectively managed.

Role Overview:

As the Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing contracts with customers, subcontractors, and third-party suppliers. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with global regulations, including GDPR and other data privacy laws. This is a dynamic role that requires a proactive legal professional with strong experience in commercial contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management in the technology sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, subcontractors, and third-party technology suppliers to protect the company's legal and commercial interests.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data privacy regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Procurement, Services and Project Management, to align legal policies with business objectives.
  • Manage disputes, claims, and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel as needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer (LLB or LLM) with experience in commercial law, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Member of a BAR – ESSENTIAL.
  • Strong expertise in contract law, negotiation, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with contracts for the sale and implementation of technology.
  • Experience in GDPR compliance and data privacy regulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Fluency in English and French is ESSENTIAL.
