JobPurpose:

To leadtechnical and technoeconomic analyses and design aspects for MasdarPV (Photovoltaic) projects. As part of an integrated project teamto prepare and agree on project specifications budgets andtimescales with contractors clients or other stakeholders and todefine basic design and create or review test procedures for PVplant components such as foundation PV modules andconverters.

Responsibilities:

  • Conductprescreening and/or technical feasibility studies of PV projectsincluding identification of technical risk. Perform concept designworks for PV projects and propose optimized plantlayout
  • Manage onsite solar resource assessmentwith ground measurement including procurement and installationprocesses.
  • Carry out studies and optimize plantconfiguration for PV projects.
  • Perform solarresource energy yield assessment and data analysis by usingstateoftheart modelling tools (PVSystem).
  • Procure and supervise geotechnicaltopographical and other relevant studies for PVprojects
  • Procure technical advisors for supportduring the bidding stage.
  • Provide technicalrequirements to be included in all RFPs for EPC O&M and/orplant components.
  • Participate in (EPCO&M and/or main equipment) contract negotiation regardingtechnical aspects.
  • Recommend technology orinfrastructure changes to improve project performance reduceoperational costs or comply withregulations
  • Provide technical support to thedelivery team making sure the proper technical resources are inplace and that the project is constructed and commissioned as perthe contractual requirements in terms of scope quality andtiming.
  • Provide technical support to assetsmanagement team as required in operational matters that may riseduring the asset lifetime.
  • Review monthly andannual reports from existing PVprojects.
  • Maintain regular contact with PVrelated institutions and industryforums.
  • Develop and keep Masdars PV Powerknowledge data base up to date
  • Build andmaintain a network of relevant contacts to support daily activitiesand longterm objectives of the team.
  • Engagewith and monitor relationships with internal and externalstakeholders in order to ensure adequate knowledge transfer andcompletion of services as per agreedparameters
  • Apply consistentapproaches/discipline and standardized forms in line with relevantpolicies processes and procedures.
  • Preparerelevant reports and updates as required and to the desiredstandard.
  • Provide management information as andwhen required by the line manager this includes the production andtimely provision of accurate reports in line with reportingschedules

Qualifications:

PreferredQualifications:

  • Mastersdegree in Engineering or Renewable Energy or relatedfield
  • Chartered Engineer status (e.g. IET EURIng PEng) is an asset
  • Project Managementcertification (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) is anasset

PreferredExperience:

810 years ofexperience in the PV industry (preferably with an EPC contractorengineering firm or technical consultant) or equivalentexperience

JobSpecificSkills:

  • Knowledge ofPV market players and PV components
  • Experienceduser in PV Systems and basic knowledge in usingAutoCAD
  • CSP technology knowledge and/orexperience would be desirable
  • Exceptionalcommunication skills and able to work in a dynamic fast paceddiverse environment.
  • Ability to prioritizeactions and work within a diverse team
  • Abilityto work in a dynamic fast paced diverseenvironment
