Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a valid teaching certificate / license in elementary education and / or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of current, full-time related teaching experience.
  • Teaching experience in an American curriculum school is preferred.
  • IELTS or TOEFL for non-native teachers (6.5 for subjects taught in English & 7.5 for English subjects).
  • Experience with current best practices, teaching materials, and instructional strategies as well as recent professional growth activities.

  • Focused instruction and assessment on student learning.
  • Ability to work independently and safeguard confidential information.

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach all areas of the elementary curriculum.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, policies, and procedures to maintain order among students.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Read books to entire classes or small groups.
  • Provide various materials and resources for students to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
  • Plan and conduct activities for balanced instruction, demonstration, and work time.
  • Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their students' progress.
  • Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities.
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
  • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development.
  • Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines.
  • Guide and counsel students with adjustment and academic problems.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials.
  • Identify students showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems.
  • Assimilate arriving students to the school environment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Prepare materials, classrooms, and other spaces to facilitate creative play.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development of elementary programs.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments.
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs.
  • Organize and label materials and display students' work appropriately.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants.
  • Administer standardized tests and interpret results.
  • Prepare for assigned classes, showing written evidence of preparation.
  • Utilize different types of technology in the classroom.
  • Plan and supervise class projects and field trips.
  • Attend professional meetings and training workshops.
  • Perform break duties as scheduled.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and superiors.
