Roles and responsibilities
  • Conduct psychologicalassessments and evaluations to identify learning, behavioral, andemotional issues in children andadolescents.
  • Develop and implementindividualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategiesto support patients' educational and developmentalneeds.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals,educators, and families to create a supportive and inclusiveenvironment for patients.
  • Provide counselingand therapeutic services to patients and their families to addresseducational and psychological concerns.
  • Conductworkshops and training sessions for hospital staff, educators, andparents on topics related to educational psychology and childdevelopment.
  • Stay updated with the latestresearch and developments in educational psychology and applyevidence-based practices in clinicalsettings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidentialpatient records and documentation in compliance with hospitalpolicies and regulations.
  • Participate inmultidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discusspatient progress and treatment plans.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's or Doctoral degreein Educational Psychology or a relatedfield.
  • Valid licensure or certification as anEducational Psychologist.
  • Minimum of 3-5 yearsof experience in educational psychology, preferably in a clinicalor hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge ofpsychological assessment tools andtechniques.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
  • Ability to workcollaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamenvironment.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledgeof Arabic is an advantage.
Desired candidate profile

1. Assessment andEvaluation

  • Conductingpsychological assessments to identify learning difficulties,emotional or behavioral issues, and cognitive strengths andweaknesses in students.
  • Using standardizedtests, observations, interviews, and questionnaires to evaluatestudents' academic abilities, emotional states, andsocial development.
  • Writing detailed reportsand providing recommendations for interventions or specialaccommodations based on assessmentresults.

2. ProvidingSupport toStudents

  • Developingindividualized education plans (IEPs) or behavior interventionplans (BIPs) to support students with specialneeds.
  • Helping students develop copingstrategies to manage emotional or behavioral challenges, such asanxiety, depression, or attentiondifficulties.
  • Offering one-on-one or groupcounseling to students to help them address academic, emotional, orsocial challenges.

3.Consultation withEducators

  • Collaboratingwith teachers and school staff to develop and implement effectiveteaching strategies that support students' diverselearning needs.
  • Providing professionaldevelopment and training for teachers on topics such as classroommanagement, student behavior, and mental healthawareness.
  • Offering guidance on how to createinclusive learning environments for students with learningdisabilities, gifted students, or students with emotional orbehavioral needs.

4.Intervention and SupportPrograms

  • Designing andimplementing intervention programs to address common learningdifficulties (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrumdisorders).
  • Monitoring the progress of studentsinvolved in intervention programs and adjusting strategies asneeded.
  • Working with external specialists(e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure aholistic approach to supporting students'needs.

5. SupportingMental Health andWell-being

  • Addressingmental health issues that affect students' learning,including stress, anxiety, bullying, andtrauma.
  • Helping to promote emotional resilienceand well-being within the schoolcommunity.
  • Providing crisis intervention whennecessary, such as for students experiencing mental healthemergencies or trauma.
