Roles and responsibilities
  • Reporting to the COO whois also a Lawyer, the appointee will be responsible for advising onall legal and regulatory aspects for the FamilyOffice
  • Advising on all legal aspects oftransactions, discretionary asset management relations and businessprojects related to Family Office and be responsible for assistingwith risk management in this regard.
  • The idealindividual will have legal experience in the family office setting,and/or M&A, and/or private equity, and/or fund investments,and/or government/sovereign investmentpractice.
  • Coordinating and interacting withinternal and international stakeholders, audit firms and local andinternational law firms will berequired.
  • Advising on corporate governance andcompliance with pre-existing and newregulations.
  • Analyzing complex legal issues andproviding consistent sound judgment to the business while balancingbusiness imperatives with legalrisk.
  • Reviewing, advising, and negotiating awide range of commercial contracts (distribution agreements,outsourcing agreements, purchase agreements, research anddevelopment and software licensing agreements, NDAs,MoUs).
  • Reviewing, advising, and negotiatinginvestments (direct equity/debt deployments, fund of fundallocations etc.) and joint ventureopportunities.
  • Establishing a framework foreffective project management of legal workstreams, includingproviding timely, clear and comprehensive updates to management onthe status of key projects.
  • Developingstrategies and processes to protect, manage and defend theintellectual property rights of the businessunit.
  • Effective supervision and management ofexternal counsel and supporting legalpersonnel.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up todate legal records for the businessunit.
  • Advising and coordinating disputeresolution matters relevant to the businessunit.
  • Promoting awareness of changes in law andregulation which will impact businessoperations

The SuccessfulApplicant

  • Qualifying Law Degree(s) and a trackrecord of academic excellence (admission to practice law in aglobally recognized jurisdiction highlypreferred)
  • Minimum of 6 years legal experience,including legal experience as a practitioner in a top internationaland/or magic circle law firm
  • Experience as alead negotiation lawyer/ project managementattorney
  • Skilled at analyzing and managinglegal and practical risk
