The Content Editor will craftcompelling, engaging, and conversion-driven English marketing copyfor push notifications, newsletters, paid ads, banners, blogs, andmore. This role is pivotal in delivering consistent, high-qualitycommunications across all digital platforms (e-commerce, emails,marketplace), ensuring alignment with GMG Sports' brandtone and SEO best practices. Collaborating closely with marketing,design, and product teams, the Content Editor inspires, informs,and delights customers, helping them make informed purchasedecisions. Strong English skills, attention to detail, and theability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced e-commerce environmentare essential for success in thisrole.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop,write and edit engaging marketing copy for push notifications,newsletters, paid ads banners, blogs, and other digital marketingplatforms for Sun & Sand Sports and UnderArmour.
  • Collaborate with marketing and designteams to ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice across allcustomer touchpoints.
  • Conduct research onproduct features, industry trends, and target audience to tailorcopy that drives engagement and sales.
  • Optimisecontent for SEO where applicable, ensuring visibility across searchengines and digital channels.
  • Proofread andedit copy to ensure grammatical accuracy, tone consistency, andbrand alignment.
  • Work with internalstakeholders to ensure that content aligns with ongoing campaigns,product launches, and seasonalpromotions.
  • Monitor and report on contentperformance metrics, adjusting strategies to improve engagement andconversion rates.
  • Manage deadlines andmultitask efficiently to support the company's fast-pacedmarketing calendar.

Functional/TechnicalCompetencies:

  • Strong proficiency in writing andediting English marketing copy, with a deep understanding of tone,voice, and messaging that resonates with e-commerce audiences,especially in the sports segment.
  • Familiaritywith SEO best practices to optimise digital content for searchengines, ensuring increased visibility and traffic for key productsand promotions.
  • Excellent proofreading skillsto ensure all content is free from grammatical errors, spellingmistakes, and inconsistencies in tone orvoice.
  • Ability to manage multiple contentprojects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining qualityacross all digital touchpoints.
  • Ability tomonitor content performance metrics, such as open rates andclick-through rates, to inform content adjustments andimprovements.
  • Strong ability to thinkcreatively and propose new content ideas or approaches to enhancebrand visibility and engagement.
  • Understandingof the unique demands of an e-commerce environment, especially interms of promotional cadence, seasonal marketing, and productlaunch schedules.

Experience:

2+ years of experience incontent creation or copywriting for digital platforms, preferablywithin the e-commerce or retail industry.

  • Writeand Edit Content: Produce high-quality writtencontent, from articles and blog posts to product descriptions,social media copy, and more. Ensure the content is clear, engaging,and well-structured.
  • OverseeEditorial Quality: Review and edit content writtenby other team members, providing constructive feedback, ensuringgrammatical accuracy, and maintaining high editorialstandards.
  • Fact-Checking:Verify facts and ensure the accuracy of the content, especially forspecialized topics requiring expertknowledge.

3. TeamLeadership andCollaboration

  • MentorJunior Editors and Writers: Provide guidance andmentorship to junior content editors and writers, helping themrefine their writing skills, understand editorial guidelines, andimprove theircontent.
  • Collaborate withCross-Functional Teams: Work with other departmentslike marketing, SEO, design, and social media to ensure content isoptimized for all platforms and is cohesive across differentchannels.
  • StakeholderCommunication: Liaise with internal stakeholders,such as product teams, executives, and other content creators, toalign content with business priorities and ensure smooth projectexecution.

4. SEO andDigital ContentOptimization

  • SEOBest Practices: Ensure that content is optimized forsearch engines by incorporating keywords, meta tags, and on-pageSEO elements in accordance with the latest SEOtrends.
  • AudienceEngagement: Tailor content to resonate with thetarget audience, using insights from analytics, audience research,and competitor analysis.
  • ContentPerformance Analysis: Track the performance ofpublished content using analytics tools, adjusting strategies basedon key metrics such as traffic, engagement, andconversions.

5. BrandVoice and ContentGuidelines

  • Consistencyin Brand Messaging: Maintain consistency in thebrand's voice, ensuring that all content across differentchannels follows a unified message and aligns with thebrand's tone.
  • CreateContent Guidelines: Develop and update comprehensivecontent guidelines for the team, ensuring that writing, formatting,and style meet companystandards.
