Select Auto supplies heavy construction equipment, MHE, vehicles, generators and maintenance services. It is the single point of contact for customers of this profile in these emerging markets and will operate as an internal customer for the other automotive group companies wishing to expand into remote locations.We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager which is initially a Dubai-based role working to GM Commercial during the bid development phase. The purpose of the role is to ensure continuity, familiarity and a timely and effective transition from bid development through contract award and finally, to delivery. They will be familiar with the detail of the bid and Al Futtaim processes and be in a position to anticipate and plan for future resource requirements to ensure a smooth transition upon contract award.Initially, they will report to GM Commercial and may work on more than one bid and/or project simultaneously. On contract award, the incumbent is released by GM Commercial to GM Operations for contract delivery, which may include deployment/secondment to the relevant country of operation.Main duties will include the following:During the bidding phase, the incumbent will work with the bid team to familiarize and assimilate the details of the submission, contribute delivery project management advice and assist the bid managers in submitting a winning proposal.Upon contract award, the incumbent is the Senior Project Manager, responsible for ensuring successful project execution.To apply for this role you should have the following skills, experiences, knowledge and qualifications:Relevant graduate degree from a university or military college and/or appropriate professional memberships and qualifications in project management, e.g., APMP/PRINCE2.Minimum 10 years' experience in project management, particularly in the Middle East and/or East Africa.Demonstrable commercial experience.Must have at least 5 years' experience working in an austere environment; experience in Iraq, East Africa or other post-conflict environments is desirable.Previous experience in an automotive or fleet management appointment.P&L responsibility.Physically and medically robust to operate in an austere and hostile environment.Understanding of the cultural, social and political dimensions of East Africa and the Middle East and a willingness to work in such environments.Willing to travel and operate in post-conflict situations and environments, such as Iraq and Somalia, as required by the business.Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Primavera/Microsoft Project, etc.Fluent in written and spoken English.
