Roles and responsibilities
  • Work closely with projectmanagers to plan and coordinate the transportation and delivery ofthe required goods. This includes identifying the most suitabletransportation routes, considering regulatory requirements, andensuring timely delivery.
  • Actively involved inproject bidding and supporting sales team, negotiating withsuppliers to designing operational efficiencies and cost objectivesto win contracts. Posses Market intelligence in trends andsupply/demand
  • Involve a combination ofdifferent transportation modes, such as trucks, ships,barges…etc. The choice of transportation mode depends onthe nature, size and weight of the cargo, as well as theproject's location.
  • To ensure properloading, securing, and unloading of the cargo, utilizingspecialized equipment like cranes, roll-on/roll-off vessels, orheavy-lift helicopters.
  • Involves obtaining thenecessary permits, licenses, and clearances for transportingoversized loads or hazardous materials. Involved in MethodStatements, CPAs, planning…
  • Toensure compliance with local, national, and internationalregulations to avoid legal issues anddelays
  • Actively manage risks associated withtransportation, including potential delays, damage, loss, or theftof the cargo. To implement measures to mitigate these risks, suchas insurance coverage, tracking systems, and contingencyplans.
  • To optimize costs while ensuringefficient transportation and timely delivery. This involvesanalyzing various cost factors, such as transportation routes,equipment selection, and consolidation of cargo to minimizeexpenses.
  • Working on engineering documents suchas drawings, MS, risk assessment etc.
  • Developproject plans, including timelines, resource allocation, andbudgeting. Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients,vendors, and team members.
  • Identify potentialrisks and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includesmonitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle and implementingcontingency plans as needed.
  • Select and managesuppliers and vendors for transportation, warehousing, and otherlogistics services. Ensure contracts are negotiated and adheredto.
  • Ensure that cargo handling, transportation,and storage meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.Implement quality control measures and inspections asnecessary.
  • Maintain regular communication withall stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, issues,and resolutions. Facilitate effective communication between teammembers and departments.
  • Allocate resourceseffectively to meet project objectives within budget constraints.This includes managing personnel, equipment, and other resourcesefficiently.
  • Maintain accurate projectdocumentation, including contracts, invoices, reports, andcompliance documentation. Generate regular reports for stakeholderson project status, performance metrics, andfinancials.
  • Address issues and conflicts thatarise during the project promptly and effectively. Developsolutions collaboratively with team members andstakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities forprocess improvement and efficiency gains throughout the projectlifecycle. Implement best practices and lessons learned for futureprojects.
  • Build and maintain positiverelationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectationsare met or exceeded. Provide excellent customer service and addressany concerns or feedback promptly.
