Roles and responsibilities
  • To perform a proper studyof assigned EPC project(s) specification and to prepare a properexecution plan to support system wise commissioning requirements inline project schedule published from JV /Clients.
  • Organizing, conducting, and supportingtest activities in line with the project schedule maintaining thepre-defined RDC (Run Down Curve) agreed with PMT /JV.
  • To identify and to mark up the test limitson P&IDs and creation of work pack / test pack in line withthe construction methodology and system commissioningrequirements.
  • To have applicable technicaldiscussions with clients / Engg / PMT for ensuring the contractualrequirements are being implemented as per assigned EPC project(s)specifications.
  • Check and prepare a properexecution plan for test pack documentation and coordinate with theHydrotesting Engineer / QC and commissioning team for final testpack documentation.
  • Maintain a high-qualityoutput in terms of test pack documentation compiling all theapplicable reports and records arranged in a well manner as per theproject requirements.
  • To coordinate with QC /Engineering to ensure the test pack documentation is in line withthe latest revisions and any mismatches are identified andclarified with Engineering prior proceeding with testactivities.
  • Verifying required NDT percentagesand other specification requirements as mentioned in the EPCproject scope of the project along with the project executionplans.
  • Ensuring the drawing revisions compiledinto the test pack are the latest ones and any applicablemodifications are attended prior final submission of testpack.
  • Responsible for executing test cases,documenting results and defects.
  • Testing andfault-finding finished systems in accordance with companyprocedures

Qualification/Experiences& Skills

  • Piping Construction plus minimum 3years shipyard experience or similar constructionindustry.
  • Minimum 3 years working experiencewith equipment maintenance / calibration.
  • Goodknowledge in piping tools and equipment.
  • Ableto understand / interpret isometric drawings, GAD andP&ID
  • Comprehensive knowledge in shipconstruction and relationships betweentrades.
  • Competent with Hydrostatic / pneumatictesting of pipelines
  • EngineeringGraduate
Desired candidate profile

  1. Test Planning andDesign:

    • Developdetailed test plans, including test objectives, methodologies,tools, and schedules.
    • Design test cases basedon system specifications, requirements, and userneeds.
    • Ensure that test plans and cases coverall relevant functional, performance, and usabilityrequirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functionalteams (e.g., engineers, designers, product managers) to define testcriteria andobjectives.

  2. TestExecution:

    • Conductvarious types of tests, such as functional, performance,integration, system, regression, and acceptancetests.
    • Execute manual and automated tests basedon the test plans and record testresults.
    • Troubleshoot and isolate problemsidentified during testing.
    • Perform loadtesting, stress testing, and other performance-related tests tovalidate productrobustness.

  3. TestAutomation:

    • Develop,implement, and maintain automated testing scripts using programminglanguages such as Python, Java, or specialized tools (e.g.,Selenium, TestComplete).
    • Set up and maintainautomated test environments, ensuring repeatable and consistenttesting processes.
    • Identify opportunities toautomate repetitive or time-consuming testing tasks to improveefficiency andcoverage.

  4. BugTracking andReporting:

    • Document andtrack defects, issues, and discrepancies identified duringtesting.
    • Work with developers and other teammembers to prioritize and resolvedefects.
    • Create detailed bug reports with clearsteps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and screenshots orlogs when necessary.
    • Monitor defect resolutionprogress and verify fixes throughre-testing.

  5. TestDocumentation andReporting:

    • Maintainthorough documentation of test cases, test results, and testexecution logs.
    • Provide regular status reportsto project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, highlightingprogress, issues, and potential risks.
    • Prepareand present test summaries, including test coverage, defectstatistics, and pass/fail rates.
    • Ensure alltest documentation complies with regulatory standards or industrybestpractices.

  6. QualityAssurance:

    • Ensure thatproducts meet quality standards and customer expectations byconducting comprehensive testing.
    • Work closelywith product teams to verify that all features are properly testedand aligned with functionalrequirements.
    • Conduct reviews of requirementsand design documents to ensure testability andcoverage.

  7. TestEnvironmentSetup:

    • Configure andmaintain test environments, including hardware, software, andnetwork configurations.
    • Set up necessary testtools, simulators, and emulators to simulate real-worldconditions.
    • Ensure that test environments areisolated from production systems to avoiddisruptions.

  8. ContinuousImprovement:

    • Participatein post-test reviews and provide feedback for process improvementsin testing methods, tools, and practices.
    • Stayup to date with industry trends and technologies to apply thelatest testing methodologies and tools.
    • Suggestimprovements to product designs based on testing feedback and userexperienceinsights.
