Nurse Medical Intensive Care Unit

The Practical Nurse providesappropriate patient care according to established care plans underthe supervision from Registered Nurses in accordance with theNursing Scope of Practice. Adheres to and promotes the professionalNurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi. The Practical Nurse is notlicensed for independent practice and remains responsible andaccountable for his/her own actions. Understands supports andpromotes the mission, vision and values of theorganization.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of theRegistered Nurse, assesses and implements nursing care for patientsensuring a patient-centered approach tocare.
- Assists in the activities of daily livingfor patients in accordance with the patient care plan e.g.distribution of patient meals and assisting patients with hygieneneeds.
- Reports any significant changes in thepatient's condition to a registered nurse-RNimmediately.
- Responds to all levels ofemergencies according to the organization's policies andprocedures.
- Ensure timely, accuratecommunication and complete documentation with patients to includeverbal and written correspondence with the patient or thepatient'srepresentative.
- Collaborates with theinterdisciplinary team in the management of effective and efficientpatient- centered care in a professionalmanner.
- Responsible for documentation andparticipation in the use of information technology and relevantelectronic medical records.
- Assists registerednurses - RNs and clerical staff in administrative duties asrequired
- Ensures patients and families areprovided with comprehensive information and resources to meet theirhealth care needs.
- Maintains confidentialityregarding patient and family information by promoting professionalinterdisciplinary communication
- Providesfeedback on strategies to decrease costs and effective utilizationof resources
- Maintains adequate inventory ofexamination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginningand end of day and between each patient contact. JOBDESCRIPTION
- Outpatient setting: Interact withclinic patients during the appointment time frame. Interactionswith the patient may include greeting, rooming, vital signs,preparing the patient for exams or procedures, and providinginstruction follow-up directions to thepatient.
- Ensure exam rooms, stations and clinicareas are stocked with adequate supplies to promote efficientpatient care.
- Complete all other tasks andduties as assigned by the line manager.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team inthe management of effective and efficient patient- centered care ina professional manner.
- Responsible fordocumentation and participation in the use of informationtechnology and relevant electronic medicalrecords.

Qualifications
EducationalQualification:
Required
- Diploma of Nursing not less thaneighteen (18) months course duration
- ANDCurrent National License
- ANDBLS
Desired
- ACLS, PALS relevant to the area ofspecialty.
Experience
Required:
- Minimum of 1 year in similar healthsetting
