JobDetails

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical recordsand identify all pertinent diagnoses and procedures for patientencounters, ensuring the highest level ofaccuracy.
  • Translate patient information intoalphanumeric medical codes using the PCS codingsystem.
  • Ensure all codes are current andaccurately depict the patient's medical treatment,diagnosis, and procedures.
  • Provide qualityassurance for medical codes and coding referencedata.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers tomanage denials by conducting medical recordreviews.
  • Assist in the development andimplementation of coding policies andprocedures.
  • Participate in coding meetings andeducational conferences to stay updated on the latest industrytrends and changes.
  • Maintain strict patient andphysician confidentiality following all HIPAAguidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departmentsto ensure compliance with internal and externalregulations.

MinimumRequirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of inpatientfacility medical coding
  • Inpatient codingexperience for an entire facility/hospital - not just for aspecific physician/provider
  • Possession of oneof the following credentials RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, orCIC
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and PCS codingsystems
