A Deputy StoreManager is a leadership position within a retailenvironment, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in theoverall management and operations of the store. This role oftenacts as the second-in-command, ensuring smooth daily operations,customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. The Deputy StoreManager assists with staff management, inventory control, visualmerchandising, and maintaining store standards. In the absence ofthe Store Manager, the Deputy Store Manager takes on fullresponsibility for the store'soperations.

  • StaffSupervision: Leading and motivating the store team,providing guidance and support to ensure high performance andexcellent customerservice.
  • Training andDevelopment: Identifying the training needs of teammembers and providing support for their professionaldevelopment.

3.Operations andAdministration

  • StockControl: Managing inventory levels, ensuringproducts are stocked, ordering new stock, and maintaining accuratestock records.
  • VisualMerchandising: Ensuring the store'sdisplays are attractive, organized, and in line with thebrand's visual guidelines to maximize sales and customerengagement.
  • Health andSafety: Ensuring the store adheres to health andsafety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment forboth customers and staff.
  • CashHandling and Financial Management: Overseeing cashhandling procedures, preparing bank deposits, and managing storefinances as required by the storemanager.

4.CommunicationSkills

  • EffectiveCommunication: Clear and open communication with theteam, customers, and other departments within thecompany.
  • Reporting:Reporting key metrics such as sales figures, stock levels, andstaff performance to the Store Manager and seniormanagement.
  • CustomerInteraction: Handling customer inquiries, concerns,and complaints in a professional and friendlymanner.

5.Problem-Solving andDecision-Making

  • QuickThinking: Addressing unexpected challenges, such asstaffing shortages, inventory discrepancies, or customer issues, ina calm and efficientmanner.
  • DecisionMaking: Making informed decisions regardingstaffing, operations, and customer service to keep the storerunning smoothly.
  • PerformanceManagement: Monitoring and managing the performanceof the store and staff, taking corrective action whennecessary.

6. TimeManagement andOrganization

  • TaskPrioritization: Effectively prioritizing tasks andmanaging time to ensure that all responsibilities are completed onschedule.
  • Multi-tasking:Handling multiple aspects of store operations simultaneously, suchas supervising staff, managing stock, and assistingcustomers.
  • ShiftPlanning: Creating work schedules for the team,ensuring adequate coverage while considering employee availabilityand store needs.
Desired candidate profile

The Deputy Store Manager supports the Store Manager in allaspects of day-to-day store operations including the achievement ofsales targets and managing and developing the store teams tomaximize profitability, maintain brand and company image, ensureoperational compliance and offer an excellent customer experience.The Deputy for the Store Managers will manage the operations of thestore in their absence and its workforce in line with the overallbusiness objectives at Majid Al FuttaimLifestyle.

ROLEPROFILE

  • Lead the teamin excellent customer service standards and enable the fulfillmentof exceptional customer experiences through a clear understandingof company/brand CX standards, individual customer needs, and anawareness of current trends andcompetitor
  • Drive the Store team to deliver thehighest levels of customer service at alltimes.
  • Build and maintain professionalrelationships with support teams, providing regular relevantfeedback to Marketing, Buying andPlanning.
  • Drive sales and take initiative toincrease sales and business improvement through keen awareness ofset KPI targets.
  • Manage and implement all salespromotions and brand activities, providing communication to therelevant support teams to ensure maximization ofsale.
  • Maximize sales opportunities throughclear and consistent communication with the Buying and Planningdepartments.
  • Ensure smooth store operations inthe absence of the store manager, dealing with any potentialdisruptions to the business in a timelymanner.
  • Implement, manage and maintaincompliance to Company policies and guidelines to minimize stockloss and damage.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma- High school certificate
  • Qualification inRetail related field is an addedadvantage
  • Minimum 4-5 years' industryexperience
