Roles and responsibilities

The Senior Engineer Well Integrity isresponsible for maintaining and developing the well integritymanagement systems including WIMS standards, and relevantprocedures and guidelines and delivery tools:

  • Conducts integrity system audit orreview and assist Share Holder or Internal Auditors, monitor andanalyses well integrity performance data, supports business unitsin implementation of WIMS requirements and is primary source ofadvice and information to business units and management on wellintegrity issues.
  • Providing Awareness/ guidanceto involved parties on integrity requirements, process &procedures.
  • Assist Drilling, Development andfields to develop and prepare annual wells integrityplan.
  • Assisting in MOC applications/reviews andprovide guidance and participate in integrity assurance/reviews.
  • Complete and ensure timely andaccurate data / inputs in appropriate data sources.

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Follow up and make sure the CorporateIntegrity Standards related to wells integrity and relevantprocedures and guidelines are adopted properly for all the welllife cycle phases by Drilling, asset Development, operations andproduction teams.
  • Assure Drilling, and fieldproduction and operations are applying and complying with wellintegrity management requirements.
  • Assureadequate wells integrity through design, construction, monitoring,and preventive/corrective maintenance by Drilling, field productionand operations for all well lifecyclephase.
  • Review, maintain, update well integrityprocesses, conduct well integrity review, and monitor compliancewith WIMS requirements.
  • Assure that corporateprocess is applied, maintained and adhered via WIMS performance,health checks, Quality assurance and fitness forservice.
  • Provide technical support related toWIMS requirements and communicate operating/critical envelops limitfor operated wells.
  • As required, communicateand assure the updated Well Integrity standards and manuals areproperly adopted by all stakeholders for all the well lifecyclephases.
  • Calculate and set annulus maximumallowable annulus surface pressures(MAASP's)
  • Define operating envelope.Calculate high- pressure alarm (HPA) andtriggers.
  • Carry out MAASP/ triggers re-calculation
  • Conduct well integrity review, andmonitor compliance with WIMSrequirements
  • Review, maintain, and update wellintegrity processes
  • Establish monitoring,surveillance and maintenance regimes for well barriers elementsthat are aimed at minimizing the potential risks of any impairmentto well barrier envelopes.
  • Determine which ofthe barrier elements are considered safety critical elements thatrequire performance standards and assurance tasks that confirmcompliance to the WIMS standards
  • Determineappropriate course of actions to address any well anomalies thatare encountered during monitoring, surveillance and maintenanceregimes
  • Establish risk of loss of containmentconsidering, well type, pressure, effluent, outflow potential,location, and environment against barrierredundancy.
  • Identify the types of well anomalyand failure- related events that are possible for wells that arebeing assessed.
  • Assess the integrity of allADCO wells (prioritize, risk assess, risk rank, and generate aclear risk ranking list with all risk registers developed alongwith clear action plans to properly monitor the integrity ofcritical wells and how to fix their integrity issues in compliancewith CIS requirements)
  • Determine the potentialconsequences of each type of well failure- related event, and themagnitude of the risk of each type of well failure-related eventbased on the combined effect of consequence andlikelihood.
  • Assure all involved parties arealigned with the well integrity requirements for all the welllifecycle phases.
  • Review reports of WellIntegrity testing and track remedial actions to ensure alloutstanding Well Integrity issues are captured in well integritydatabase for mitigating solutions in timelymanners.
Desired candidate profile
  • Communicate the analysis and trends ofintegrity threats to concerned parties andmanagement.
  • Assure that verified well integritylessons learned are captured and communicated to concernedparties.
  • Assure all Well Integrity requirementsare managed either riglessly and/or being captured in wellsprognosis and work over programs.
  • Providetechnical support to Asset Development, Drilling, and fieldproduction and operations for well intervention problems andsolutions.
  • Assure Drilling and Asset operationsperform work in accordance with the company's establishedand approved Well Integrity Standards andprocedures.
  • Identify integrity opportunities;sustain integrity system improvements by recommending integritybest practices & capturing end userfeedback.
  • Provide assurance to Drilling andAsset operation, by coordinating with Well Integrity Engineers andwith Engineering & Projects to ensure compliance withintegrity requirements for the new projects (assistance in thepreparation of SOW & interpretation of integrityrequirements & deliverables).
  • Asassigned, perform WIMS related duties such as participating inmulti-divisional task forces, working groups, incidentinvestigation teams relevant to well integrity technicalissues.
  • Understand and promote thecompany's health, safety & environmental policyand objectives; perform work in accordance with thecompany's established rules, regulations and approvedprocedures; intervene to stop unsafe acts and practices; and isaccountable for the well being and safety of own self and others,including all contracted labor force – unskilled,semiskilled, and skilled.
  • Plan, direct andactively participate in the ongoing training and development of ownself, new hire, trainee, university student and subordinates withspecial emphasis on UAE Nationals. This includes assessingemployees' training and development needs, directing thepreparation of structured development programs, monitoring progressand counseling trainees on alternative career paths and jobprofiles available in the company.
