JobOverview
Structural Engineer willbe responsible for overseeing and managing all structuralengineering activities for the transportation project during thepreconstruction and construction phases. Experience in ProjectManagement Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is required. Theselected candidate will be responsible for managing the designreview and construction supervision of underground interchangestations. This role involves validating the design provided by theD&B contractor and ensuring compliance with projectspecifications andstandards.
RolesandResponsibilities:
- Reviewand validate structural designs submitted by the D&Bcontractor for underground interchangestations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevantcodes standards and projectrequirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis andevaluation of structural components including foundations retainingwalls and support systems.
- Collaborate with thedesign team to address any discrepancies or issues identifiedduring the review process.
- Provide technicalguidance and support to the construction team during theimplementation phase.
- Monitor constructionactivities to ensure adherence to approved designs andspecifications.
- Conduct site inspections andassessments to verify the quality and integrity of structuralworks.
- Prepare and review technical reportsdesign calculations anddocumentation.
- Coordinate with otherengineering disciplines project managers and stakeholders to ensureseamless project execution.
- Participate inproject meetings and provide updates on design review andconstruction supervision activities.
- Identifyand mitigate potential risks and issues related to structuralengineering aspects of theproject.
Qualificationsand EducationalRequirements:
- Bachelorsdegree in Civil or StructuralEngineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licenseor equivalent certification.
- Proven experiencein design review and construction supervision of metro rail orsimilar transport infrastructureprojects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codesstandards and best practices in structuralengineering.
Knowledgeand Experience:
- Minimumof 810 years of experience in structural engineering with a focuson underground structures and interchangestations.
- Expertise in structural analysis anddesign software (e.g. STAAD.Pro ETABS SAP2000 orequivalent).
- Familiarity with geotechnicalengineering principles and their application to undergroundstructures.
- Experience in conducting structuralassessments and inspections.
- Strongproblemsolving skills and ability to make sound engineeringjudgments.
- Excellent communication andinterpersonalskills.
PreferredSkills:
- Experienceworking in a PMC environment.
- Knowledge ofproject management principles andpractices.
- Ability to work effectively in amultidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizationaland time management skills.
- Proficiency inusing project management software (e.g. MS ProjectPrimavera).
