Roles and responsibilities
  • The successful candidatewill be responsible for reviewing client briefs (RFP's),responding with tailored proposals, as well as managing small teamsto deliver smart, efficient and compliant infrastructure packagesto a high standard of quality.
  • Preparation ofconcept and detailed civil infrastructure designs and producingtechnical and commercial specifications, design reports, drawingsand schedules.
  • Monitors and controls projectbudgets and schedules, initiating any necessary action to achieveestablished financial targets.
  • Driving highquality drawing production (working parallel withdrafters).
  • Preparation of tender submissionsincluding proposal cost and timeestimates.
  • Liaison with municipalities,utilities, and other consultants for information, as required inpursuit of approvals and general coordinationtasks.
  • Coordination with the other internalmulti-discipline project managers, teams and subconsultants.
  • Supervision and mentoring juniorstaff, providing technical and professional guidance to assist intheir development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in engineeringor Science (Civil Engineering).
  • 10 years ofexperience with a minimum of 05 years in a UAE basedConsultancy.
  • Project Management and strongclient interfacing experience.
  • Possess strongrelationships with government and private clients within UAE (allemirates).
  • Experienced in both Internal andExternal Wet Utilites design.
  • Technicalknowledge wet infrastructure utilities (including sewer,stormwater, potable water, irrigation and firefighting water,district cooling,).
  • Possess existingrelationships with key decision makers within local (UAE) utilityorganizations.
  • Understanding of moderninfrastructure modelling softwarepackages.
  • Strong analytical and technicalreport writing skills and written/verbalcommunications.
  • UAE experience and a solidunderstanding of design, international standards and constructionpractices specific to this region, will be consideredfavorably.
Desired candidate profile

Design and Implementation of WetUtilities

  • DesignWater Distribution Systems: Develop designs forwater mains, distribution networks, and connections to ensure anefficient and safe watersupply.
  • Design Sanitary and SewerSystems: Create sewage and drainage systems thatsafely carry wastewater and stormwater from buildings to treatmentfacilities.
  • Stormwater ManagementDesign: Design systems to manage rainfall, includingretention ponds, detention basins, and sustainable urban drainagesystems (SuDS) to reduce flooding and controlrunoff.
  • Pump Stations andTreatment Plants: Design and manage the installationof pump stations for wastewater or stormwater, and work ondesigning or upgrading water and sewage treatmentplants.

2. ProjectPlanning andCoordination

  • WorkClosely with Project Teams: Collaborate witharchitects, civil engineers, urban planners, and other disciplinesto integrate wet utility designs within broader infrastructureprojects.
  • Manage MultipleProjects: Oversee multiple wet utility projects,ensuring coordination between design, procurement, construction,and commissioning phases.
  • EnsureCompliance with Regulations: Ensure that all wetutility designs meet local regulations, sustainability targets, andenvironmental standards.

3.Site Supervision and QualityControl

  • OverseeInstallation: Monitor the installation of wetutility systems on-site, ensuring that contractors follow thedesign and qualitystandards.
  • Conduct SiteInspections: Regularly inspect work and constructionactivities to ensure compliance with the design, codes, andregulations.
  • TroubleshootInstallation Issues: Provide guidance on resolvingany issues that arise during the installation of wet utilities,such as unexpected site conditions or designmodifications.

4.Hydraulic Analysis and SystemOptimization

  • ConductHydraulic Analysis: Perform hydraulic calculationsand modeling to ensure systems are adequately sized and functionproperly.
  • OptimizingEfficiency: Recommend improvements or optimizationsto existing systems to improve water flow, reduce energyconsumption, and prevent leaks orblockages.

5.Sustainability and EnvironmentalImpact

  • IncorporateSustainable Practices: Integrate water conservationpractices such as greywater recycling and rainwater harvesting intodesigns.
  • Manage EnvironmentalImpact: Ensure wet utility systems minimize theenvironmental impact, focusing on reducing water usage andpreventing pollution.
