Roles and responsibilities
  • Utilise advanced dataanalytics to grow Canonical's product adoption and marketpenetration
  • Focus on quantitative andqualitative data analytics to find insights and meaningful businessoutcomes
  • Design and conduct experiments withdata, visualisation and insights into Canonical's targetaudiences
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams(Product Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance,RevOps, etc) to improve the data and toolecosystem
  • Put in place and maintain systems toensure teams across the company have self-service access to datadashboards

What we arelooking for in you?

  • Background in data science,mathematics, actuarial science, orengineering
  • Knowledge in advanced statistics,data sciences, coding/scripting languages (Python, JS, etc), anddatabases (SQL, etc)
  • Strength in data analyticsand visualisation (Looker Studio, Tableau, Apache Superset,etc)
  • Ability to translate business questions tokey research objectives
  • Ability to identify thebest methodology to execute research, synthesise and analysefindings
  • Excellent writing and communicationskills

  • 1. DataCollection andAnalysis

  • DataGathering: Collect marketing data from varioussources, such as social media platforms, email campaigns, websitetraffic, customer surveys, and salesreports.
  • DataCleaning: Prepare and clean data to ensure it isaccurate and ready for analysis, removing inconsistencies or errorsthat may skewresults.
  • Reporting:Assist in creating reports and dashboards that track marketingperformance, including key metrics like website traffic, leadgeneration, conversion rates, and customerengagement.

  • 2. CampaignPerformanceTracking

  • PerformanceMetrics: Monitor the performance of marketingcampaigns, including digital ads, content marketing, and emailcampaigns. Track metrics such as click-through rates (CTR), returnon investment (ROI), conversion rates, and customer acquisitioncosts (CAC).
  • A/BTesting: Assist in conducting A/B tests formarketing campaigns to evaluate which strategies and creativeelements perform best.
  • TrendAnalysis: Identify trends and patterns in the datathat could inform future marketing strategies and highlight areasfor improvement.

  • 3.Market Research and CompetitiveAnalysis

  • CompetitorAnalysis: Monitor and analyze competitors'marketing strategies, campaigns, and activities to help identifyopportunities or gaps in themarket.
  • CustomerInsights: Assist in conducting market research andcustomer surveys to gather insights into customer preferences,behaviors, anddemographics.
  • IndustryTrends: Stay up to date on marketing trends, newtechnologies, and best practices that could be applied to thecompany's marketingstrategies.

  • 4. Supportin StrategyDevelopment

  • Assistin Strategy Formation: Support senior marketing teammembers in developing and refining marketing strategies based ondata-driven insights.
  • CampaignOptimization: Provide recommendations to improveongoing campaigns by analyzing results and suggestingoptimizations, such as refining target audience segments orimproving messaging.

  • 5.Marketing Technology andTools

  • MarketingPlatforms: Use various marketing tools andplatforms, such as Google Analytics,HubSpot,Mailchimp, orSEMrush, to track campaignperformance, analyze data, and generatereports.
  • CRMSystems: Work with Customer Relationship Management(CRM) tools to gather insights on customer behaviors, sales, andinteractions with marketingefforts.
  • AutomationTools: Gain experience with marketing automationtools to help streamline and optimize campaigns andworkflows.

  • DataAnalysis: Ability to analyze marketing data andidentify trends, patterns, and actionableinsights.
  • Excel/SpreadsheetProficiency: Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheetsfor data analysis, pivot tables, and creating charts orgraphs.

  • MarketingMetrics: Familiarity with common marketing metrics(e.g., CTR, CAC, LTV) and how they are used to evaluate campaignsuccess.
