We'd love to hear from youif you have:

  • Degree ofpost graduate qualification in urban design, urban planninglandscape architecture, or related field and preferably with aprofessional affiliation (or eligible formembership)
  • Candidates will ideally haveminimum 7-10 years relevant working experience in urban design,urban planning and master planning.
  • Lead theproduction of high-quality urban planning, design and masterplanning project submissions in the UAE and the wider Middle Eastand Africa
  • Lead in the preparation of technicalbids and fee proposals for master planning and urban designprojects and other major infrastructure projects whereappropriate;
  • Strong design and graphicscapabilities and ability to communicate ideas via various visualand graphic media including hand drawn and computergraphics.
  • Fully conversant with Adobe CreativeSuite with demonstrable graphics and visualisationskills.
  • Competent in PowerPoint, MS Word, Exceland AutoCAD.
  • Experience in working within amultidisciplinary team – including externalsubconsultants – is essential.
  • Strongdesign management, report production and coordinationskills
  • An understanding of sustainabilityissues within the public realm. (LEED or similar experience andadvantage)
  • Excellent communication skills inwritten and spoken English.
  • Capable of workingon own initiative or as part of a larger multidisciplinaryteam.
  • Have a logical and organized approach toproject delivery of project outputs.
  • Will berequired to travel within the Middle East region to projects in avariety of geographical locations, including SaudiArabia.

  • Public SpaceDesign: Designing accessible, inviting, andfunctional public spaces such as plazas, parks, andstreetscapes.
  • Zoning andRegulations: Knowledge of zoning codes, localplanning policies, and buildingregulations.

  • 3DVisualization and Modeling: Proficiency in toolslike Rhino, SketchUp, or Revit to create design models and visualrepresentations.
  • ArchitecturalDesign: A strong grasp of architectural principlesfor the design of buildings and structures within urbansettings.
  • SustainableDesign: Incorporating sustainable, green designprinciples into urban projects (e.g., LEED, energy efficiency,green roofs, etc.).
  • LandscapeArchitecture: Understanding landscape principles tocreate harmonious and functional urbanspaces.

3. Analyticaland ResearchAbilities

  • UrbanAnalysis: Conducting assessments of existing urbanconditions, infrastructure, anddemographics.
  • Traffic andMobility Analysis: Understanding transportationsystems, pedestrian movement, and how design can improveconnectivity andflow.
  • Environmental ImpactAssessment: Analyzing potential environmentalimpacts of urban design and planningdecisions.

4. ProjectManagement

  • TeamLeadership: Leading multidisciplinary teams ofarchitects, engineers, planners, and otherprofessionals.
  • ProjectCoordination: Ensuring smooth collaboration betweendifferent stakeholders, from local authorities to communitygroups.
  • Time and BudgetManagement: Managing project timelines, resources,and budgets effectively.
  • ClientLiaison: Working closely with clients to understandtheir needs and deliver design solutions that meetobjectives.
