Roles and responsibilities

The Associate Director will beresponsible for leading and managing delivery of Commercial andCost Management services of Major High-End Residential andCommercial Projects both in Pre-Contract and Post-Contractstages.

The Associate Director will provide acomprehensive, accurate and value driven service for Clients. He/She will also be responsible for direct reports and provide supportand supervision. Will be Client focused and lead project teamsand/or provide advisoryservices.

Duties &Responsibilities

  • Leadingand managing a team of professionals and specialists for successfuldelivery of cost and commercial managementservices.
  • Achieve the highest standards ofprofessional competence, maintain and develop good relationshipswith clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase theprofile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium qualityservices to the constructionindustry.

  • Goodunderstanding of preparing cost plans to elemental detail (NRM,POMI)
  • Through understanding of Conditions ofContract and contractual issues
  • Good verbal andwritten communication skills
  • Ability to providespecialist services in support of projectrequirements
  • Independently performs highlycomplex professional assignments
  • Able topresent to Clients and senior industryprofessionals
  • Familiar with Cost X software orother cost planning software

Qualifications

  • Minimum15 years' experience since obtaining maximum educationalqualification.
  • Experience of working in GCC,ideally in major consultancies and major high-end residential andcommercial projects.

  • CostPlanning: Developing and managing detailed costestimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects orbusiness units.
  • CostControl: Monitoring and controlling project costs,identifying cost overruns, and implementing corrective actions toensure budgets are adheredto.
  • ValueEngineering: Assessing cost-effective methods tooptimize project or operational expenditures while maintainingquality and performance.

2.Project and Program FinancialManagement

  • FinancialOversight: Providing financial leadership andoversight across projects, ensuring all cost-related aspects areappropriately managed andreported.
  • RiskManagement: Identifying financial risks during theproject lifecycle and recommending strategies to mitigate thoserisks, ensuring projects remain withinbudget.
  • FinancialReporting: Preparing and presenting regular costreports, variance analysis, and financial summaries to seniorleadership, stakeholders, andclients.

3. Contractand ProcurementManagement

  • ContractAnalysis: Reviewing and negotiating contract termsto ensure that cost and financial management requirements areclearly defined and adheredto.
  • ProcurementStrategy: Developing cost-effective procurementstrategies, working with procurement teams to ensure the best valueis achieved for goods and services required forprojects.
  • Subcontractor andVendor Management: Managing relationships withsubcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring their services andmaterials are provided within the agreedbudget.

4. Leadershipand TeamManagement

  • TeamLeadership: Leading and mentoring a team of costmanagement professionals, providing guidance, training, and supportto ensure best practices arefollowed.
  • Cross-FunctionalCollaboration: Working closely with projectmanagers, engineers, and other departments to ensure that costmanagement strategies are integrated into the overall projectplanning and executionprocess.
  • StakeholderManagement: Communicating cost-related issues andupdates to key stakeholders, including senior executives, clients,and team members.

5.Financial Analysis andReporting

  • Cost-BenefitAnalysis: Conducting cost-benefit analyses toevaluate potential financial decisions and recommend the bestcourse of action for project and operationalsuccess.
  • FinancialForecasting: Providing accurate financial forecastsbased on historical data and trends, ensuring stakeholders areaware of potential financialoutcomes.
  • VarianceAnalysis: Analyzing budget vs. actual financialperformance, identifying discrepancies, and implementing correctiveactions where necessary.

6.Technology and SystemsProficiency

  • CostManagement Software: Familiarity withindustry-specific software and tools for cost estimation,budgeting, and financial tracking (e.g.,Procore, OraclePrimavera, MicrosoftProject, orCostX).
  • ERPSystems: Knowledge of enterprise resource planning(ERP) systems that integrate financial data across departments andstreamline cost managementprocesses.
  • Data AnalysisTools: Proficiency in using data analysis tools(e.g., Excel, Power BI,Tableau) for financial analysis andreporting.
