SUMMARY OF POSITION

As a member of the exhibitions teams of the Guggenheim AbuDhabi Project the Exhibition Manager New York will ensure theeffective planning budgeting communication and implementation ofexhibitions for the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi including permanentcollection displays temporary exhibitions andcommissions.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 57 yearsexperience working in Exhibitions area for a museum gallery orfoundation.
Working knowledge of 20th and 21st Centuryart and a familiarity with artists materials.
Experiencedeveloping and managing budgets in excess of $2000000.
Experience negotiating and managing contracts and legalagreements.
Foundation in exhibition managementprocedures helpful.
Excellent concern for detail whileworking within multiple fastpaced project timelines.
Goodcommunication skills both verbal and written.
Ability towork collaboratively and diplomatically
Exceptional fileorganization skills
Ability to collaborate with diverseimplementation team is essential.
Flexibility and theability to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to beproactive use independent judgment and initiative.
Foreign language skills helpful.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

Duties mayinclude but are not limited to the following:

Serve as the lead project manager forassigned exhibitions and projects managing the processcompletion of milestones teamcommunication budget and implementation.

Organize and lead exhibition checklist development withthe curatorial and design departments and planning andimplementation meetings across multiple departments. Ensure smoothcommunication between all parties involved in executingexhibitions. Monitor and analyze scope
and budget againsttime and resources.

Utilize projectmanagement best practices such as detailed project schedulesbudgets and communication platforms toensure highquality exhibitions result completing on time and onbudget.

Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure they are well representedand incorporated within a strong team environment.

Coordinate meetings set agendas and ensure information isregularly shared as appropriate to keep all stakeholders movingforward.
Develop highlevel budget estimates.

Work with Finance on the final exhibition budgetmonitoring actuals versus budget and report on final project costversus plan.

Participate in regular forecastmeeting with the department and Finance.

Reviewand approve all invoices related to assigned exhibitions submittedby departmental staff.

For assigned exhibitionsmanage implementation onsite at the Museum including callingregular meetings monitoring activity on the floor and overseeingbudgets.

Troubleshoot any problems that ariseduring the course of the exhibitions installation and alert seniorstaff to any significant tradeoffs to ensure an exhibition iscompleted on time and goal.

Oversee use of anassigned exhibitions space during changeover and during the run ofthe exhibition.

Work closely with internaldepartments on the parameters for use of the space.

Responsible for communication of key information to staffand keeping staff updated on project progress.

Liaise with other museums on touring exhibitions organized by SRGMor hosted by other institutions.

Facilitate GAD(Guggenheim Abu Dhabi) projects as assigned.

Track contract negotiations internally and externally ensure smoothcommunication between external partners and internal staff andmonitor deliverables and contractual obligations.

Assist the Senior Manager of Exhibitions in developmentof museum procedures related to the functioning of the exhibitionprogram.

Meet with/respond to inquiries fromprofessional colleagues regarding the exhibition programresearch/development etc.

Work closely with theSenior Manager of ExhibitionPlanning.

WORK DEMANDS andENVIRONMENT:

Ability to travelwithin the metropolitan area as required to perform the aboveduties at any of the Guggenheims owned or leased properties uponrequest.

Occasionally work may be conductedoutdoors with exposure to varied weather conditions.

Ability to work nights weekends and holidays onoccasion.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree required.
