  • Preparebids and the project's metallurgy engineering budget andexecution plans, updating as required
  • Raisetechnical queries to obtain missing information, clarify workscope, and maintain preferred McDermott procedures, specifications,standards, practices, and operationalrequirements
  • Prepare, review, and (as LeadEngineer) approve metallurgy engineering design basis,philosophies, and technicalspecifications
  • Participate in finalizingdeliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance withspecifications and functional integrity
  • Reviewproject schedule and fabrication schedule in relation toconstruction sequence, milestones, and engineeringscope
  • Attend project kickoff and reviewmeetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings, and offshore sitesurveys, as required
  • Provide technicaldirection and review of Designers producing products related toProcess Engineering
  • Prepare, review, and (asLead Engineer) approve design reports andprocedures
  • Assist in providing necessary designinputs to other disciplines to enable them to proceed with theirdeliverables
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer)approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking forcompliance with project specifications and providing comments asnecessary
  • Present issues and problems toCustomers in a timely manner and assist the Lead Engineer innegotiating resolution in accordance with project and companyrequirements
Desired candidate profile
  • 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with amajor contractor or consultant predominantly performing detaildesign
  • Bachelor's Degree orMaster's Degree inEngineering
  • Detailed knowledge of designtechniques and analysis methods and detailed knowledge of thetheory, content, and application of standards, codes, andguidelines as applicable
  • Knowledgeable inproject coordination and executionskills
  • Preferably Registered Engineer inTraining (EIT) or member of professional engineering society asapplicable
  • Eager to learn and open tocontinuous development
  • Be or become a subjectmatter expert on one or more typical metallurgysubjects
  • Working knowledge of English, bothoral and written
  • HSE, TQM andcost-conscious
  • Show flexibility and ensureproper hand-over with regards to:
    • Thereassignment to other departments, construction sites, andfabrication yards
    • The replacement of colleaguesduring illness and holidays
    • The provision ofassistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also otherprojects) when possible/desirable
    • Themanaging/learning of future current working methods and softwareapplications
  • Accreditedengineering degree as may be required by specificregions
