Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for theprofessional operational delivery of events features and projectsfor their allocated portfolio. You will ensure that all aredelivered to the highest possible standards and to the satisfactionof all parties involved consistently throughout theyear.

In collaboration with the Senior OperationsManager you will be responsible for the resourcing and schedulingof the operations within your allocatedportfolio.

You are expected to be prepared totake the lead and deliver the operations for aerospace events whenrequired.

Key PerformanceIndicators

• Personallylead & deliver the Operations on specific (but not limitedto) areas of the aerospace events as well as complete oversight andoperational management of these areas.
• Be a keypoint of contact for the show teams in all matters on yourallocated responsibilities internal andexternal.
• Working with the Event Operationslead to establish excellent service & meet stakeholderexpectations.
• Contribute to the successful andcollaborative management of the operations department aiming foroperational synergy.
• Accountability forachieving operational show budgets within aerospaceevents.
• Ensure all operational tasks arecarried out on a timely basis according to individual project plansand within deadlines across all yourevents.
• Ensuring all events are working withinthe companys H&S Security & Sustainabilityguidelines at all times.
• Creation Managementand implementation of internal and external Service LevelAgreements.
• Adhere to all Informa compliancerequirements & supplier performance accordingly to ensurethey do likewise.
• Perform any other dutiescommensurate with the grade and level ofresponsibility.

Management&Leadership

• Work withcross functional team members gathering the event teamsrequirements understanding their strategy key components forfulfilment ensuring the project plan fits theseneeds.
• Regular & effective meetingswith Event Operations lead operations team and any other keystakeholders to ensure accurate planning and strategic directionmaximising operational performance.
• Share yourbest practice examples with other teams to enhance theircapabilities and to create a more consistent Informaexperience.
• Monitor best practice in othercompanies and bring your insights to Informa to keep us ahead ofthecompetition.

Showspecifictasks

• Personalresponsibility for the technical delivery & management ofseveral events in the year.
• Support inproduction communication and implementation of project plansensuring all tasks are carried out on a timely basis &within deadlines set.
• Attendance &contribution at event strategy days uponrequest.
• In collaboration with the Procurementteam monitor the ongoing performance of key contractors andtroubleshoot / identify remedial action as required on eventsthrough the SRM programme governance.
• Providinginformation for assessment collating suitable reports &dashboards for use in SMT decisionmaking.

Compliance /legal / H&S /Sustainability

• Incollaboration with the Procurement team contribute to theprocurement activity for aerospace events throughout the yearthrough utilisation of Coupa.
• in collaborationwith Group HSS ensure your direct reports events &suppliers meet or exceed our H&S requirements. Work onremedial measures where necessary.
• Be an activepartner of the Portfolio Sustainability and look for opportunitiesto support and enhance our sustainabilityinitiatives.
• Be an avid promoter &implementer of our Better Stands Programme within your allocatedevents.

CustomerExperience

• Work on theimplementation of changes / improvements to the Customer Journey.Support this work to ensure consistent operationaldelivery.
• Leads by example to ensure Ops teamknow what customer service level isexpected.
• Sets up routes of communicationconstructive feedback with internal and external parties to alwaysensure best customer experience.
• Continuallyevaluates processes to ensure they are appropriate for customerneeds
• Ensures customer feedback is translatedinto future processchanges.

Qualifications:

• Must haveindependently and successfully managed operations on multiple largeevents to a consistently highstandard.
• Experience of managing and supportingjunior team members.
• You will possess a goodworking knowledge of the exhibition industry & venues aswell as a great working relationship with all officialcontractors.
• Effective communication skillsbeing able to liaise with Operations team members as well asworking with & reporting to Director Level individualsthroughout the portfolio(s).
• Familiarity withgood procurement practices.
• Excellentinterpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate othersthinking outside the box for creativesolutions.
• Ability to anticipate problemsand/or put contingency plans in place.
• A provenability to work to tight deadlines with attention to detail underpressure is a pre requisite.
• Willingness andability to travel / work across differing time zones especiallywithin the EMEA region.
• Proven knowledge ofexhibition H&S Guidelines andimplementation.
• Floor plan managementexperience in AutoCAD and other floor planning programs isessential
• Computer literate and proficient inthe use of commonly used business software and project managementsoftware.
• Effective verbal and written Englishcommunication skills.
• IOSH Managing SafetyCertificate (or equivalent) as aminimum.
