OVERVIEW:

TheField Interviewer is responsible for conducting respondentinterviews accurately and in a professional manner. Nielsen datacollection methods vary by country and project but includeFacetoFace or Telephone interviews. Field Interviewers must followstandard procedures at all times and adhere to specified projectrequirements and timing.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

ProjectManagement:

  • Conductinterviews in a professional manner and record respondentinformation and responses accurately
  • Understandthe requirements of each assigned project including thequestionnaire survey method and supportforms
  • Execute interviews according to Nielsenstandards and project requirements
    • Comply withall confidentiality and securityrequirements
    • Make proper introductions whencontacting/screening people for a project
    • Readthe questionnaire script exactly aswritten
    • Ensure all responses and outcomes arerecorded truthfully and accurately
    • Make everyeffort to achieve and adhere to assigned projectquotas
    • Ensure interviewing starts and finisheson the specified dates to meet deliveryschedules
    • Carry out all interviews during thestandard hours of interviewing
    • Return allsurvey materials to the Field Supervisor at the end of a project(or as requested)
    • Respond to queries in atimely manner
    • FacetoFaceinterviews: Ensure ID badge is current and displayed atalltimes
  • ComputerAssisted Personal Interviews (CAPI): Fully understandhow to use and care for the mobile device including maintaining ausable battery level and syncing the data after interviewing (or asrequested)

General:

  • Conductall interviews and respondent interactions in a professional andcourteous manner leaving respondents with a positive view ofNielsen
  • Dress appropriately for theinterviewing environment
  • Foster honest twowaycommunication with End to End Coordinators and Field Supervisors aswell as with other project resources andteams
  • Communicate the following to FieldSupervisor in timely and objectivemanner:
    • Concerns regarding training and/orproject requirements
    • Nonproject relatedqueries/issues of concern
    • Workrelated incidentsincluding securityincidents
  • Accuratelyestimate time expenses KMs/mileageetc.

Qualifications:

  • Basicunderstanding of the field interview process; previous interviewingexperience would be an advantage
  • Strongcommunication; good people skills and a pleasantmanner
  • Organized and reliable; strong workethic and highly motivated
  • Detailoriented; ableto easily follow project instructions and fieldprocedures
  • Thorough understanding of therelated Nielsen SOPs and fieldworkstandards
  • Good command of local languageArabic;English (verbal & written) would be anadvantage
  • Clean professional appearance with aclear speaking voice
  • For CAPI/CATIInterviewers: Computer literacy and accurate keyboardskills
