EALResponsibilities

  • Develop and maintain assessment andevaluation systems, demonstrating the effectiveness of strategiesand value for money for the school.
  • Prepare andevaluate appropriate learning materials which support thedevelopment of EAL.
  • Maintain existing resourcesand explore opportunities to develop new resources for studentswith EAL.
  • Keep abreast of good practice and newapproaches in teaching methods, curricular development andstatutory requirements through reading relevant documents,attendance at meetings and professional development activities anddisseminating this information within theschool.
  • Advise on appropriate strategies fordeveloping EAL for individual students.
  • Work incollaboration with the SEN team whereappropriate.
