Roles and responsibilities

Work with Engineering to create Proofof Concepts, define AWS elements to be used based on businessrequirements.

Analyze and present comparisonof multiple AWS solutions, non-AWS alternatives to executives - forfinal decision making.

Responsible forbuilding and setting up new development tools and infrastructureutilizing knowledge in continuous integration, delivery, anddeployment (CI/CD), Cloud technologies, Container Orchestration andSecurity. Build and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring thatsystems are safe against security threats.

Indepth expertise with the Kubernetes stack Operators, CRDs,Policies, TLS

  • MonitoringandLogging:

    • SystemMonitoring: Implement monitoring solutions usingtools like Prometheus,Nagios,Datadog,Zabbix, or NewRelic to track system performance and applicationhealth.
    • LogManagement: Use centralized logging solutions likeELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash,Kibana) or Splunk tocollect, analyze, and visualize logs for system troubleshooting,performance optimization, and securitymonitoring.
    • Alerting and IncidentManagement: Set up alerting systems and respondproactively to issues by using tools likePagerDuty,Opsgenie, orVictorOps to reduce downtime andenhance systemreliability.

  • CollaborationandCommunication:

    • Cross-FunctionalCollaboration: Collaborate with development,operations, and QA teams to ensure efficient software deliverypipelines, smooth infrastructure management, and alignment of goalsand processes.

  • PerformanceOptimization:

    • SystemTuning and Optimization: Continuously monitor andimprove system performance, ensuring that infrastructure,applications, and services are running optimally. Work on reducinglatency, improving throughput, and scaling systems asneeded.
    • CostOptimization: Work with cloud providers and teams tooptimize costs by selecting the right resources, optimizingworkloads, and leveraging appropriate services and automation toolsto manage usageefficiently.

  • SecurityandCompliance:

    • SecurityAutomation: Integrate security practices into theCI/CD pipeline and ensure that security measures are automated. Usetools like Vault,OWASP, andSonarQube for vulnerability scanningand compliance checks.
    • AccessControl and IAM: Implement secure access controlpolicies using Identity and Access Management(IAM) tools, ensure that least privilege principlesare followed, and manage permissionseffectively.
    • Compliance andAuditing: Ensure that infrastructure and deploymentpipelines adhere to security policies and compliance requirements(e.g., GDPR,HIPAA,PCI-DSS).
