Roles and responsibilities
  • Manage and Lead amulti-disciplined maintenance team
  • Ensuremaintenance schedules are accurate andachievable
  • Develop OEM contracts as directed byClient and maintenance requirements
  • Author themaintenance section in the weekly and monthlyreports
  • Work with the CMMS / Planning Engineerto ensure maintenance routines are
  • accurate andjustified
  • Appraise and update preventativemaintenance routines in CMMS asapplicable
  • Develop maintenance backlogreports
  • Develop a priority system formaintenance repairs against time andcriticality
  • Develop a call out system foremergency breakdown support
  • Ensure there isrobust forward planning for common user services (CUS)in
  • scaffolding, lifting and insulation, whichallows for the completion of all maintenance
  • toschedule
  • Engage competent local contractors tocarry out all CUS work
  • Direct the team tosupport shutdown and turnaround planning andresourcing
  • Be aware of the priority ofpredictive maintenance requirements
  • Ensure theteam maintains critical materials holdings with minimum andmaximum
  • stockidentified
  • Ensure engineers audit the sparesholdings advised by the EPC Contractorfor
  • accuracy andsufficiency
  • Ensure self and team are fullyconversant with the technical documentationavailable
  • from EPC Contractor andOEMs
  • Ensure self and team are fully conversantwith all technical documentation required
  • formaintenance and confirm it is available or resourced through OEMsor vendors
  • Review competency of sub-contractorsand engage local sub-contractors tosupport

  • Engage competent local contractors toundertake non maintenance tasks, such as
  • routeclearance, chemical replenishment, closed drain / sceptic tankevacuation etc.
  • Review MOCs for technicalaccuracy and delivery
  • Provide technical inputto modifications and work packs
  • Develop acertification process to bring plant back on line after majormaintenance
  • or modifications ensuring integritybefore handing over to operate
  • Answer technicalqueries and guide sub-contract personnel on maintenanceand
  • best practices
  • Monitorequipment performance and drive continuous improvement in plantand
  • personnel
  • Be conversantwith Contract KPIs and support their delivery andattainment
  • Ensure completion reports aresubmitted against all work and shutdowns/
  • turnarounds
  • Ensure goodknowledge of the Contracted Services
  • Commenceand design a checklist system for routine maintenancetasks
  • Participate in, or cooperate with;internal or external audits respectively
  • Chaira weekly team meeting and maintain an action and minute log fordiscussion
  • Attend weekly managementmeeting
  • Compile or receive detailed writtenHandover prior to; and completion of leaveand/or
  • field breaks
  • Carryout HSE and technical audits and inspections asdirected
  • Have a full awareness of the CompanyCode of Conduct and Business Ethics
  • Conductinvestigations into any HSE incidents or Technicaloccurrences

    • Developingand implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimizeequipment downtime.
    • Using predictivemaintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography)to identify potentialfailures.

  2. TeamLeadership andManagement:

    • Supervisingand training maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessaryskills and knowledge.
    • Scheduling andprioritizing tasks for the maintenance team to maximizeproductivity.

  3. TroubleshootingandProblem-Solving:

    • Diagnosingand resolving mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systemissues.
    • Applying critical thinking to addresscomplex maintenance challenges andemergencies.

  4. Equipmentand FacilityManagement:

    • Overseeingthe maintenance of plant equipment, machinery, andfacilities.
    • Managing inventory of spare partsand tools to ensure quick turnaround duringrepairs.

  5. SafetyandCompliance:

    • Enforcingsafety standards and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and otherregulatory requirements.
    • Conducting safetyaudits and risk assessments for equipment and workplaceenvironments.

  6. Budgetingand CostControl:

    • Managingmaintenance budgets, including labor costs, parts, and externalservices.
    • Identifying cost-saving opportunitiesthrough efficient resource management and processimprovements.

    • Leadingmaintenance projects from initiation to completion, includingupgrades and installations.
    • Managing timelines,resources, and coordinating with otherdepartments.
