Roles and responsibilities
  • Plans, directs,supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical,fiscal, and administrative functions of the assignedproject.
  • Forecasts monthly revenue, laborcosts, ODCs, and gross profit for the term of theproject.
  • Develops and manages the budget;oversees the profitability of theproject.
  • Responsible for project invoicing andbilling including all accounts receivable and accountspayable.
  • Oversees establishment of ProjectManagement Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/QualityControl Plan, and other documents asrequired.
  • Establishes the project requirementsfor all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and finaldeliverables for adherence to thesecriteria.
  • Assigns responsibility for executingproject plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of howto utilize their qualifications andstrengths.
  • Monitors and negotiates changes tothe scope of work with the client and keysubcontractors.
  • Markets and secures additionalwork with client.
  • Maintains clientrelationships and rapport with potential teamingpartners.
  • Develops career development planswith all direct reports and identifies and coordinates trainingneeds and requests for their staff.
  • Identifiesthe staffing plan for projects andpursuits.
  • Responsible for employee performanceincluding recognition and disciplinaryefforts.
  • Serves on a committee or board forprofessional organizations that meet ourobjectives.
  • Attends key conferences fornetworking and brand exposure.
  • Submitsabstracts to key conferences and encourages presentations fromstaff.
  • Discusses the qualifications required ofthe key project positions with seniorleadership.
  • Collaborates with the officefacilities staff to address project office spacerequirements.
  • Works with other managers,project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets,schedules, and plans for the various elements of aproject.
  • Works with the key project individualto devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential costoverruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to thescope of work; advises the client and company management ofchanges.
  • Responsible for maintaining currentand timely change orders.
  • Promotes technicaland commercial excellence on the project through application ofQuality Assurance processes.
  • Monitors andreports to management on the progress of all project activitywithin the program, including significant milestones and anyconditions, which would affect project cost orschedule.
  • Acts as the Company representativewith the client and selected subcontractors during the programexecution.
  • May participate in negotiations withregulatory agencies and in public meetings in support ofclients.
  • Establishes weekly meeting to reviewproject status and formulate actionitems.
  • Participates in proposal development onproject pursuits, client meetings and clientpresentations.

Education and TypicalExperience

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineeringor related technical/business field
  • 10+ yearsof related work experience and
