As a Project Engineer (Roads, Rivers& Dikes), you will join our engineering team to providetechnical support for small-scale and less complex tenders,projects, and designs, as well as parts of medium to complex ones.Your role ensures that projects meet agreed requirements such assafety, quality, time, budget, legal regulations, andmore.

You will have the opportunity forpersonal and professional growth by working on unique and complexprojects in the Netherlands, including the design, construction,and maintenance of dikes and water barriers. Example projectsinclude the Markermeerdijken, Meanderende Maas, Dike ReinforcementZwolle-Olst, and the creation of new islands near Amsterdam andMarkerwadden. Our work always considers environmentalcare.

Your Responsibilities as aProject Engineer (Roads, Rivers & Dikes)are:

  • Drafting Specifications andProcedures: Independently drafting specifications and proceduresfor the realization of tenders, projects, and designs within theset framework and customer and contract requirements to achieve anoptimal project result.
  • Designing andDeveloping Technical Solutions: Independently designing anddeveloping (new) technical solutions that meet all requirements.Offering alternative solutions to the customer and minimizingrisks.
  • Feasibility and Safety Assurance:Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility andsafety of the proposed solution/method and the resultingspecifications.
  • Scope Determination andSupervision: Responsible for determining the scope of engineeringwork for mainly small projects and/or less complex technicaltenders or parts of complex projects, including personnel,planning, and budgeting. Supervising and assessing the work ofcolleagues, subcontractors, and customers to ensure that tenders,projects, and designs are carried out in accordance with therequirements.
  • Progress Reporting and DeviationIdentification: Responsible for progress reporting regarding smallprojects and/or less complex technical tenders (or parts of complexprojects) to internal and external customers. Timely identificationof deviations in time, demand for engineering capacity, quality, orcosts, compared to planning, requirements, andbudget.
  • Execution Support and Improvement:Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects,sometimes on location. Providing logistical support. Participatingin the continuous improvement of departmental processes andprocedures and evaluating the engineering process. Responsible foridentifying acquired knowledge and experience and ensuring theimplementation and execution of follow-up actions. Managing smallengineering teams, coaching team members in their work, andcontributing to the development and assessments of project teammembers.
Desired candidate profile

You canmake your mark as Project Engineer (Roads, Rivers & Dikes)if you have:

  • Bachelor's degrees in civilengineering.
  • 3-6 years of relevant workexperience, including experience with relevant working methods,techniques, and professional software andmodels.
  • Relevant experience with projectmanagement and good command of English (written and spoken).Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
  • Advancedknowledge of ICT office and planning applications, with basicknowledge of drawing applications.
