Roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure that all employeesconsistently implement Company HSE policies andprocedures
  • Plan and organize regular emergencyresponse exercises and drills and oversee their execution topromote HSE awareness across theCompany
  • Conduct regular site visits and assessfield activities to ensure conformance with standards set out inNMDC Group's HSE Manual and project-specific HSErequirements
  • Identify and report HSEObservation and LSR violation
  • Verify HSErequirements for each work scope
  • Verifyimplementation of FRA control measures
  • VerifySub-Contractors HSE performance and implementation of NMDC HSEstandards
  • Ensure that emergency responseprocedures are updated from time totime
  • Monitor inspection and maintenance ofsafety, firefighting, and emergency responseequipment
  • Investigate the leading cause of HSEissues raised by staff members, contractors, or clients and reportresults to the HSE Engineer
  • Work closely withthe HSE Engineer to facilitate toolbox talks at onsitemeetings
  • Review weekly and monthly site HSEreports and statistics on HSE performance and present findings tosenior colleagues
  • Review and analyzeaccidents/incidents and near-misses and prepare to close outreports accordingly
  • Identify the training needsof team members in consultation with the Section Head andcoordinate with the L&D section to organize appropriatetraining programs to enhance skills, productivity & qualityof work

MinimumRequirement:

  • Minimum 05 years of related workexperience in similar industries
  • Diploma in arelated field, or equivalent
  • Holder of NEBOSH /IOSH Diploma or an equivalent internationally recognised HSEcertification

1.Health, Safety, and EnvironmentalManagement

  • HSEPolicy Implementation: Ensure that thecompany's HSE policies and procedures are followed acrossall departments and locations. Implement strategies for improvinghealth, safety, and environmentaloutcomes.
  • RiskAssessments: Lead and conduct regular riskassessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, andimplement controls to mitigate these risks acrossoperations.
  • SafetyPlans: Develop and review safety plans for projects,ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and internal safetystandards. These plans may include emergency response, hazardcommunication, and safe workpractices.
  • Environmental ImpactAssessments: Oversee environmental risk assessments,monitor environmental performance, and ensure compliance withenvironmental laws and regulations (e.g., waste management,pollution control, and resourceconservation).

2.Regulatory Compliance andReporting

  • LegalCompliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant local,national, and international HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, localenvironmental laws) and ensure the organization complies with allhealth, safety, and environmentallaws.
  • HSE Audits andInspections: Conduct regular site audits andinspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmentalstandards. Recommend corrective actions as necessary to ensure fullcompliance.
  • Accident and IncidentInvestigation: Lead investigations into workplaceaccidents, injuries, and environmental incidents. Prepare detailedreports on the findings and recommend corrective measures toprevent futureoccurrences.
  • Reporting:Prepare and present reports on HSE performance, audits, riskassessments, and incidents to senior management. Track and reporton key performance indicators (KPIs) related to HSEgoals.

3. Training andAwareness

  • EmployeeTraining: Develop and deliver training programs foremployees and contractors on health, safety, and environmentalissues, including safe work practices, emergency procedures, andthe proper use of protectiveequipment.
  • AwarenessPrograms: Implement and maintain employee awarenessprograms to promote HSE culture across the organization. This couldinclude safety drills, toolbox talks, andworkshops.
  • SafetyCommittees: Lead or participate in safety committeemeetings, ensuring that concerns related to safety, health, and theenvironment are raised andaddressed.

4. EmergencyResponse and CrisisManagement

  • EmergencyPlanning: Develop and maintain emergency responseplans for incidents such as fires, chemical spills, naturaldisasters, and other workplace emergencies. Ensure that allpersonnel are familiar with these plans and regularly participatein emergency drills.
