Job Title: Senior Grains Procurement Manager (Corn, Feed Grains)

Location : Dubai, UAE

About the Role:

We are partnering with a leading agri-commodities trading and supply chain company in Dubai, UAE, seeking a Senior Grains Procurement Manager to spearhead the group's corn and feed grains sourcing activities.

This is a strategic role where you will lead procurement operations to achieve a competitive advantage by optimizing supplier relationships, managing risks, and aligning purchasing strategies with the company's objectives. You will also drive collaboration across operations, supply chain, and sales functions while developing and implementing effective sourcing and hedging strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Procurement (50%)

  1. Lead sourcing and contract negotiations for corn and feed grains globally.
  2. Develop market intelligence and insights to inform purchasing strategies.
  3. Collaborate with the supply chain and operations teams to establish competitive purchasing contracts.
  4. Understand and utilize futures markets, implementing effective hedging strategies to manage risks.

Strategic Planning & Risk Management (20%)

  1. Create and execute long-term purchasing strategies that proactively address risks and opportunities.
  2. Identify supply chain optimization opportunities to enhance cost-efficiency and mitigate risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)

  1. Work closely with supply chain, operations, and sales teams to analyze risks, costs, and pricing evolution.
  2. Optimize pricing and contribution margins by aligning cross-functional objectives.

Leadership & Talent Development (10%)

  1. Align team resources with short- and long-term procurement strategies.
  2. Provide guidance and expertise to the procurement team, ensuring engagement and development.
  3. Lead talent development, succession planning, and team performance.

KPIs & Objectives

  1. Procurement and logistics planning accuracy.
  2. Supplier relationship and cost optimization.

Requirements & Skills:

  1. Experience : 10–12+ years in grains trading, merchandising, or procurement, with specific experience in corn and feed grains.
  2. Education : Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field; MBA preferred.
  3. Travel : Willingness to travel up to 20% for conferences, supplier events, and site visits.
  4. Technical Skills :
  5. Expertise in commodity trading, supply-demand fundamentals, and derivatives (futures and options).
  6. Knowledge of maritime logistics, vessel spreads, trade flows, and seasonality.
  7. Proficiency in documentation and awareness of global trade nuances, including piracy risks.
  8. Behavioral Skills :
  9. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders across a complex organization.
  10. Strategic thinking, conflict management, and driving results.
  11. Ownership, accountability, and effective decision-making.
