The Principal will shape a school character that is based on the distinctive traditions of an American approach to education yet is firmly rooted in Emirati culture.The successful candidate must have the desire to work as part of a team and to build a close relationship with the central team and the wider family of schools. First-class communication skills with the gravitas to act as a credible ambassador to a range of audiences is crucial and will be complemented by commercial acumen and the personal drive to establish this new school as a success from the outset. As a leading education provider in the Middle East, Taaleem is continuing to support the UAE Vision and National Agenda 2021, establishing a unique partnership between the government and the private sectors. We currently manage and operate a number of Charter schools in the UAE, with the aim of raising the quality of education; playing a significant role in shaping the present and future lives of Emirati youth.The Role:The core purpose of this role is to provide professional, highly effective leadership and management that will achieve outstanding results in all aspects of school life.The Vice Principal is responsible for working in collaboration with the Principal to manage all risks, fill the school and manage the cost base to generate the budgeted revenue and profit, and to deliver outstanding ratings and parental engagement.The Vice Principal will work under the guidance of the School Principal and Executive Principal for Charter Schools and will work closely with the staff team, as well as colleagues across the wider Taaleem family. The opportunity is to develop and bring into reality a compelling vision for a school that will offer a rigorous American education and aims to develop respectful citizens who embrace UAE culture and values while having a strong global perspective.Position Requirements:Education: Master's degree or NPQSL/NPQH, Teaching certification, Principal/educational management qualification.Experience:The placement will be in a large school setting (2000+ primary students); at least 5 years experience in a senior leadership role that has included responsibility for running/line managing a team, making curriculum decisions, inspection procedures and working firsthand with parents.The Primary section runs from KG to Grade 5, follows US curriculum standards, and employs an internationally diverse staff; knowledge and experience in a similar setting would be a distinct advantage.IB PYP experience, US curriculum standards and familiarity with the UAE context would be desirable.Competencies:Critical thinker and problem solverKnowledge of international inspection and evaluation frameworksExcellent communication skills in spoken and written formFinancial acumenSuccessful in managing time and prioritiesExperience in developing and leading high performing teamsHighly effective relationship management with a variety of stakeholdersAble to delegate effectively and hold people to accountAble to drive improvements by taking staff along with youEducational data literateAttributes:Internationally minded, emotionally intelligent, intercultural awareness, creative and persuasiveAction orientedHigh stamina and resilienceFlexibility and adaptable to changeCalm under pressure#J-18808-Ljbffr
