Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sous Chef (Bakery & Pastry) at The Lime Tree Cafe & Kitchen in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Sous Chef will be responsible for daily bakery and pastry preparation, baking, cooking, and showcasing culinary skills to create delicious and visually appealing products.
We are recruiting a Pastry Chef to strengthen our Culinary Team. This is a senior role that combines a need for the highest culinary standards with skills to create, manufacture & craft cakes, pastries, confectionary, gluten free & vegan products, & catering desserts. With the ability to work in a fast paced kitchen while maintaining high specification standards. You would report directly to our Head Chef & work closely to take responsibility for the management of our pastry & bakery team, development & production.
You must have a proven track record in a kitchen of similar standard as this role demands the highest calibre candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing & participating in the production & presentation of pastry, bakery & dessert items, including baking, cooking, decorating, and finishing techniques, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and excellence in execution.
- Drive standards & product innovation across the pastry department - developing seasonal items, new recipes, speciality products (gluten free/vegan options).
- Enthusiastic individual who is able to motivate others, has a passion for food & quality products & ingredients.
- Providing guidance, coaching, & training to ensure proper techniques, efficiency, & teamwork with the department.
Qualifications:
- Bakery and Baking skills
- Food Preparation and Cooking skills
- Culinary Skills
- Experience in creating and presenting bakery and pastry products
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and creativity
- Formal culinary training or certification is a plus
