CloudPlatforms andServices

CloudProviders: Expertise in major cloud platforms suchas:

  • AmazonWeb Services (AWS)
  • MicrosoftAzure
  • Google Cloud Platform(GCP)
  • IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, or other nicheproviders.

Cloud Services:Familiarity with a wide range of cloud services,including:

  • Compute: EC2, Azure Virtual Machines,Google Compute Engine.
  • Storage: S3, BlobStorage, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Storage, Cloud FileSystems.
  • Networking: VPC, VPN, Load Balancing,DNS, CDN, and IP management.
  • Databases: Manageddatabases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) and NoSQLsolutions (e.g., DynamoDB, Azure CosmosDB).
  • Serverless Computing: AWS Lambda, AzureFunctions, Google CloudFunctions.
  • Containerization and Orchestration:Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Google GKE, Azure AKS.

Architecture DesignAnd Implementation

  • Cloud Architecture: Designingscalable, high-availability, and fault-tolerant cloud solutionsbased on best practices.
  • Multi-Cloud &Hybrid Cloud: Experience in designing solutions that span acrossmultiple cloud environments or integrate on-premises infrastructurewith cloud services.
  • MicroservicesArchitecture: Designing cloud-native applications usingmicroservices, ensuring they are loosely coupled, scalable, andmaintainable.
  • High Availability and DisasterRecovery: Designing resilient architectures with backup, failover,and disaster recovery plans.
  • Cost Optimization:Knowledge of cost management strategies and tools to optimize cloudusage and ensure efficient use ofresources.
  • Cloud Migration: Leading migrationsof on-premises applications to the cloud (Lift and Shift,Replatforming, Refactoring, etc.).
Desired candidate profile
  • Cloud Security BestPractices: Knowledge of securing cloud environments, includingidentity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security,and firewalls.
  • Security Services: Familiaritywith cloud-native security services like AWS Identity and AccessManagement (IAM), AWS Shield, Azure Active Directory, Google CloudIdentity, etc.
  • Compliance Frameworks:Understanding of compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, PCI-DSS, and how to implement them in a cloudenvironment.
  • Data Privacy and Governance:Ability to create and manage data privacy policies and accesscontrol models for cloudenvironments.
  • Penetration Testing andVulnerability Assessment: Experience in using tools to test thesecurity posture of cloud systems and mitigatevulnerabilities.

DevOps AndAutomation

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience insetting up and managing continuous integration and continuousdeployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWSCodePipeline, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Infrastructureas Code (IaC): Proficiency in tools like Terraform, AWSCloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), or Google CloudDeployment Manager for automating cloud infrastructureprovisioning.
  • Configuration Management:Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStackfor managing and automating cloudconfigurations.
  • Containerization andOrchestration: Expertise in working with containers (e.g., Docker)and orchestrating them using Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, GoogleKubernetes Engine (GKE), or Azure Kubernetes Service(AKS).

Networking &Connectivity

  • Cloud Networking Concepts: Knowledgeof cloud networking principles including VPC, subnetting, loadbalancing, DNS, NAT, and securitygroups.
  • Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)& Direct Connect: Designing secure communication betweencloud and on-premises networks.
  • GlobalDistribution & CDN: Familiarity with Content DeliveryNetworks (CDNs), edge services, and multi-region cloud deploymentsfor globally distributed applications.
  • SD-WAN& Hybrid Connectivity: Understanding of hybrid cloudnetworking solutions that connect on- premises data centers withcloud infrastructure.
  • API Gateway &Service Mesh: Using tools like AWS API Gateway, Azure APIManagement, Istio, or
  • Linkerd to manage APItraffic and service-to-service communication in microservicesarchitectures.
