Roles and responsibilities

Perform quality servicing andrepairs, on all electronics systems and devices so as to returnthem to manufacturer's specifications.

JobAccountabilities:

Receive work andJob Card from the workshop supervisor.

Carriesout diagnosis on faults, checks the parameters, and analyses thedefect.

By receiving the job card, performs eachrequirement and ticks and signed the checklist upon completion ofwork.

Rectifies the defect and fixes in the timeallowed. In the event of complications, refers the matter to theworkshop supervisor.

Searches for information inthe available documentation (technical manuals, repairbooklets).

Identifies additional work andnon-conformances. Rapidly communicates them to the WorkshopSupervisor and writes them down on the JobCard.

Ensure the presentation of the equipmentviz. resetting of equipment and accessories,cleanliness.

If any parts are required, informsthe Workshop Supervisor

Applies themanufacturer's directives and safetyrules.

Tidies up and cleans the work area, andall the tools used (individual orcollective).

Maintains the stock of tools andkeeps them in proper condition.

Perform all theactivities in compliance with the Company's QHSEMS and asper the assigned specificresponsibilities.

Carries out any additionaltasks assigned (in line with qualifications and ability) by theline manager.

Qualifications &Education

High-school degree / ITIcertification.

Experience

Aminimum of 3years of experience in a similar profile withincommercial vehicle and heavyequipment.

Knowledge &Skills

Working knowledge ofEnglish.

Understand the uses of modern diagnosticequipment.

1.Electrical SystemsKnowledge

  • Wiringand Circuits: Understanding electrical circuits,wiring, and components (motors, sensors, and electrical panels) andhow to safely and efficiently work withthem.
  • Troubleshooting ElectricalIssues: Diagnosing and fixing electrical faults,including using tools like multimeters, voltmeters, andoscilloscopes.
  • PowerSystems: Knowledge of power distribution, electricalloads, and electrical safety regulations (e.g., grounding, circuitprotection).
  • AutomationSystems: Familiarity with programmable logiccontrollers (PLCs) and other automation technologies that controlmachinery and processes.

2.Mechanical SystemsKnowledge

  • MechanicalAssembly: Assembling and disassembling mechanicalsystems such as engines, pumps, andconveyors.
  • MechanicalTroubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing mechanicalfailures (e.g., broken components, misalignments, wear andtear).
  • FluidMechanics: Understanding the operation of hydraulicor pneumatic systems used in machinery andequipment.
  • PreventiveMaintenance: Performing regular inspections andmaintenance on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and extendthe lifespan of machinery.

3.Maintenance andRepair

  • PreventiveMaintenance: Regularly inspecting and maintainingelectrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimalfunctioning.
  • SystemCalibration: Ensuring that electrical and mechanicalsystems are calibrated properly and operating within specifiedparameters.
  • Repair andReplacement: Replacing faulty electrical andmechanical parts, such as motors, switches, or mechanicallinkages.
  • DiagnosticTools: Using diagnostic tools to test and identifyfaults in electrical and mechanical systems, such as thermographiccameras or vibration analyzers.

4.Troubleshooting and ProblemSolving

  • CriticalThinking: Analyzing and solving complex issues thatarise in machinery or systems, often requiring both electrical andmechanical understanding.
  • FaultDiagnosis: Using diagnostic techniques to identifythe source of mechanical or electrical failures and providingsolutions.
