Roles and responsibilities
  • General Ledger andReconciliation
    • Maintain and update generalledger accounts for tax, financial reporting, and monthly closingactivities.
    • Prepare and post journal entries,ensuring accurate and timely recording and reconciliation offinancial transactions.
    • Reconcile accountspayable and receivable ledgers to ensure accuracy andcompleteness.
    • Review disbursements, bank andcredit card transactions, and balance sheetreconciliations.
  • CashManagement, Accounts Payable, and AccountsReceivable
    • Manage cash flow by processingsupplier invoices, employee expense reports, and intercompanycharges.
    • Ensure timely vendor payments andmanage payment schedules.
    • Generate and sendcustomer invoices, and monitor and follow up on outstandingreceivables.
  • FinancialReporting and Compliance
    • Assist in preparingmonthly, quarterly, and annual financialstatements.
    • Create financial reports andsummaries for management review.
    • Prepare andmaintain data and reports needed for tax returnpreparation.
    • Ensure compliance with financialregulations and standards.
    • Support internal andexternal audits by providing required documentation andexplanations.
    • Identify potential risks anddevelop and implement solutions.
    • Ensureadherence to internal controls and company policies.

TheSuccessful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, or a related field; professionalcertifications such as ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent areadvantageous
  • Over 5 years of relevantexperience in transactionalaccounting
  • Familiarity with computerizedgeneral ledger accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct,NetSuite, or similar) is preferred
  • Proficiencyin MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Previousexperience working with a financial services institution or familyoffice is a plus

  • FinancialReporting: Preparing accurate financial statements,including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flowstatements, in accordance with accountingstandards.

  • Budgetingand Forecasting: Assisting in the development ofbudgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning andresourceallocation.

  • AccountsPayable and Receivable: Managing invoicing, paymentprocessing, and collections to maintain healthy cashflow.

  • GeneralLedger Maintenance: Ensuring that all financialtransactions are accurately recorded in the generalledger.

  • Compliance:Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and standards,including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS(International Financial ReportingStandards).

  • TaxPreparation: Assisting with the preparation andfiling of tax returns and ensuring compliance with taxlaws.

  • AuditSupport: Supporting internal and external audits byproviding necessary documentation and explanations of financialrecords.

  • VarianceAnalysis: Analyzing discrepancies between actual andbudgeted financial performance, identifying reasons forvariances.

  • FinancialAnalysis: Conducting financial analysis to provideinsights on business performance and supportdecision-making.

  • ProcessImprovement: Identifying opportunities for improvingfinancial processes and systems to enhance efficiency andaccuracy.
