Responsibilities

Technician- Maintennace (Shift)

Ø Scheduledinspection of all the mechanical equipment duringshift.

Ø Monitor, troubleshoot andPerform maintenance of equipments like Kiln, decolorizer, Hydraulicroller press, separators, belt conveyors, Bucket elevators, VRM,air slides, Stacker and reclaimers, Utility sections as perinstructions and maintenance checklist.

Ø Carry out welding work asand when required.

Ø Minimize downtime of equipment to ensure smoothproduction.

Ø Maintain accurateshift logs, record equipment performance, and report any incidentsor maintenance activities.

Ø Localoperation of compressor and other equipment as per instruction fromshift manager/CCR operator.

ØSupport to shift manager in trouble shooting of plant problem andto capture the abnormalities during his rounds in shift abnormalityregister.

Ø Ensure properlubrication schedule and filling as and whenrequired

Ø Work closely with othertechnicians and operators to ensure operational goals are met andany technical issues are quicklyaddressed.

Ø Keeping housekeepingof equipment, related to mechanicalequipment’s.

Ø Awarenessof safety standards / guidelines and Compliances of Safety standardat site.


Desiredcandidate profile

1.Technical Skills andKnowledge

  • MechanicalSystems: Proficiency in maintaining and repairingmechanical systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and airconditioning), conveyors, pumps, and motors. Understanding ofsystem operation and troubleshootingmethods.
  • ElectricalSystems: Knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits,and control systems. Ability to perform electrical maintenancetasks like replacing switches, outlets, and circuit breakers, aswell as diagnosing issues with motors, control panels, andtransformers.
  • Hydraulic andPneumatic Systems: Familiarity with theinstallation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hydraulic andpneumatic systems, including compressors, actuators, valves, andcylinders.
  • PlumbingSystems: Basic knowledge of plumbing systems formaintenance tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, andensuring proper functioning of faucets, pipes, and watersystems.
  • PreventiveMaintenance: Understanding and implementingpreventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment runs smoothlyand avoid breakdowns. This includes inspecting machinery,lubricating components, and replacing worn-outparts.

2.Troubleshooting and DiagnosticSkills

  • RootCause Analysis: The ability to identify the rootcause of problems in machinery or systems and not just address thesymptoms.
  • DiagnosticTools: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such asmultimeters, oscilloscopes, or infrared thermometers to assess thecondition ofequipment.
  • Electrical andMechanical Troubleshooting: Expertise in diagnosingboth electrical and mechanical issues with equipment, includingmalfunctioning motors, faulty electrical components, andmalfunctioning industrialmachinery.

3.Problem-Solving and CriticalThinking

  • EfficientTroubleshooting: Ability to efficiently assessproblems and come up with creative solutions to resolve issues withminimal downtime.
  • Time-SensitiveRepairs: Managing repairs effectively intime-sensitive situations, ensuring that equipment is back inoperation as quickly aspossible.
  • CriticalDecision-Making: Ability to make sound decisionsregarding repairs, replacements, or temporary solutions whenequipment fails.

4.Safety and ComplianceKnowledge

  • WorkplaceSafety: Understanding and following safety protocolsand ensuring safe working practices are maintained, including theproper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves,goggles, and earprotection.
  • Compliance withRegulations: Knowledge of safety regulations such asOSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards andother industry-specific guidelines for machinerymaintenance.
  • Lockout/Tagout(LOTO): Familiarity with lockout/tagout proceduresto ensure the safety of personnel during maintenance and repairwork.
