Legal Counsel . You will play a critical role in providing legal advice support and guidance on various legal matters pertaining to the organizations operations and business activities in the UAE. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance mitigating risks and safeguarding the companys interests in accordance with local laws and regulations.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
Offer expert legal advice and opinions to the management and relevant stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues related to the companys operations in the UAE.
Interpret and analyze laws regulations and government policies that affect the companys activities and ensure compliance with local legal requirements.
Review draft and negotiate various contracts agreements and legal documents related to business transactions partnerships employment licensing and other legal matters.
Identify potential risks and liabilities in contracts and propose appropriate modifications to protect the companys interests.
Monitor changes in UAE laws and regulations that could impact the companys operations.
Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws regulations and industry standards.
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance levels and recommend corrective actions.
Represent the company in legal proceedings negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods (mediation arbitration) as necessary.
Collaborate with external legal counsel when required ensuring effective management of litigation matters.
Advise on corporate governance matters including company structure director responsibilities and board meetings.
Oversee intellectual property rights protection and enforcement to safeguard the companys trademarks copyrights and patents.
Identify legal risks and potential liabilities in business operations and propose strategies to minimize such risks.
Conduct legal research to support decisionmaking and provide recommendations to mitigate legal exposures.
Liaise with government authorities regulatory bodies and external legal advisors to ensure a cohesive and constructive working relationship.
Collaborate with various departments within the organization to provide legal insights and support their initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Law from a recognized university; a masters degree is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer preferably with exposure to legal practices in both the UAE and either the US or UK jurisdictions.
Strong knowledge of UAE legal system commercial laws and regulations.
Familiarity with US or UK legal systems and experience working with relevant laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical research and problemsolving skills.
Demonstrated experience in contract drafting negotiation and legal analysis.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
